Prepare your taste buds for a flavor-packed journey at Indian Street Food, a remarkable food truck nestled in Sunnyvale, CA. If you're longing for the true taste of South India, look no further. Indian Street Food serves up the most delectable dosas in the entire Sunnyvale area, transporting you straight to the streets of Chennai, India. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by Arul, the exceptional manager, who ensures that every customer is treated like family. His passion for providing an authentic experience shines through in every aspect of the food truck. The dosas served at Indian Street Food are simply outstanding. Crispy on the outside, yet soft and flavorful on the inside, they are a culinary masterpiece. The accompanying chutney and sambar are nothing short of authentic, mirroring the flavors I experienced during my travels to Chennai. The combination of the dosa, chutney, and sambar creates a symphony of taste that is both comforting and exciting. One of the many reasons Indian Street Food stands out is its commitment to maintaining the true essence of South Indian cuisine. The attention to detail in recreating these flavors is evident in every bite. It's no wonder that this food truck has gained such a loyal following and is soon opening a physical location—something that has me eagerly anticipating their continued success. If you find yourself in the Sunnyvale area, make it a point to visit this hidden gem of a food truck. Indian Street Food offers an authentic South Indian culinary experience that will leave you craving more. The impending opening of their physical location is sure to be a testament to their popularity and the appreciation for their exceptional fare. In conclusion, Indian Street Food in Sunnyvale, CA, is a must-visit for anyone seeking genuine South Indian flavors. With Arul's attentive service, the incredible dosas, and the remarkable authenticity that permeates every dish, this food truck is a true culinary delight. Embark on a taste adventure that will transport you to the streets of Chennai and allow yourself to savor the rich and vibrant flavors of South India at their finest.

This is my new found gem in South Bay. My friend took me here for a late dinner as she had tried before. I don’t expect much from food trucks but this one exceeded my expectations!! We were hungry so we ordered a bunch of things - masala puri, paneer roll, veg spring roll, and veg fried rice. I had expected the usual less quantity of the food but I was very impressed with the big portions of each dish. Had to keep some for the next day. It was all well packed and tasty. The chilli sauce served is actually hot so be careful with trying that. Even the paneer roll was quite big and super delicious. The uncle serving the food in chilling cold was very polite. A unique feature here that when your order is ready, he will point a green laser at your car or in your direction in the area and prompt you to get your order. I only remembered to take the picture later of just the remaining 2 spring rolls. I definitely want to go here again and try out more things. Please go check it out if you haven’t already.

Excellent food truck with great food and prices! Highly recommend the chicken wrap and the dosa! I have only ever been here late at night. When I have gone, it has been fairly quiet. Even when there are lots of people eating here, I've been able to put my order in immediately. I've attached photos of my onion masala dosa. They are so tasty and so big! Closest you're going to get to $10 for enough food for two people these days. I also highly recommend the chicken wrap. Other things I've enjoyed there are the pav baji, vada pav, and of course the masala chai. The guy who I assume runs the place is super nice. I want to talk to him whenever I go. He even gave us free masala chai refills when he saw we had finished!

I have been here almost 4-5 times, I work in santa clara, so I go there sometimes just for a change of taste. But I have never liked their pani puri. They use the fry at home pani puri that is very crunchy and hurts the top of your mouth. Anyways I went there this time to try other stuff o. The menu, I asked the cashier which chaat is most popular, he recommended the masala puri, and explained it like a dry dahi puri, I thought I'd try it, I also ordered tea, alu bhaturey, vada pau, and the veg spring wrap.

Masala puri was disappointing. It was yellow dhaal/chana sabji topped with chaat add on's like onions, tomatoes, and chutnies. I don't know how you can call this a chaat, anyways I think that if I wanted hot sabji, I would have just gotten that, not chaat. This was a total waste of money.

Then came the rest of order, when I opened the lid of tea to add sugar, it was only filled 75% of the cup! I had to ask them to fill up the cup since I had paid $45 plus on my entire order! The uncle started to make excuses like we need to leave some room to add the sugar and ect....I didn't care, I had had it with restaurant owners trying to rip customers off. They charge you $3 to $4 a small cup of tea that doesn't even satisfy your chai cravings, and on top of that, they don't even fill up the small cup all the way.

Then I tried to open my veg manucurian wrap, it had leaked a whole big puddle through the paper bag onto my car seat, spoiling my entire seat covers, when I tried to open it, it was burning hot to the touch, I couldn't even touch it more the 2 seconds. After I waited for it to cool down and after spending 5 to 10 minutes cleaning my car seat covers, I tried the sizzling hot wrap, which tasted blah....nothing worth coming all the way to that place for.

Vada pau and bature were not so great either, nothing special to have driven all that far for.....

Not Recommended, waste of money. Not good...

Randomly stopped by because I found myself suddenly starving while out running errands. I saw the truck and thought, why not?

It's also nice that they're open till midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, but unfortunately only 11pm on weeknights.

Google reviews and photos go back 6 months but the person I talked to said they've been open for a year.

Good:

Sambal was good, tasted like minestrone with mild Indian spices.

Medu vada was hot, fresh, soft, moist, and had strong lentil aftertaste (a plus in my book) but I wanted more onion bits in it.

Bad:

The idli did not taste truly fermented but like it was quickly made to taste fermented with the addition of vinegar instead of actually fermenting (not saying they did this for sure, only that it tastes like it was made that way).

The coconut chutney tasted bland, like dried coconut shavings soaked in water, not fresh coconut and spices.

The rose lassi did not taste like rose to me. Just sweet and vaguely floral but not specifically rosy. Also I like my lassi with a bit more tang.

Divided:

Spouse said tomato chutney tasted like it had actual soil in it, I thought it was fine.

Did not try the momos, frankies, pav bhaji, or vada pav as I already have go-to restaurants which I am loyal to for those dishes (Everest, Mumbai Chowk, Pav Bhaji and More, Puranpoli).

Will update if I ever come back to try...
