Update 2025: I have visited here a few times since my last review and definitely seen poorer customer service and more importantly the food is not as good as it once was, the butter chicken I had recently was very poor quality chicken and just way too oily. Subgee’s were also not as good as I recall from years past. Finally, service has been getting pretty poor, this weekend I was barked at by the guy serving at the counter. Not good. I doubt I will come back - sad as I’ve been coming here for over a decade or more and to see the food and service get so poor is upsetting especially since it’s one of the few North Indian food places in the area. —————— Prior review: This is a total ‘hole in the wall’ kinda place. It’s located in a strip mall between a liquor store on one side and a Persian restaurant on the other. It’s been around for years and generally pretty busy when we’ve been. There’s a small parking lot at the front that can get fairly packed. Often there’s a line at the front. It does have a small sit down area but I’d definitely would not anyone for a special occasion for a sit down meal here. It’s pretty rough I’d say … so 99% we get the food to go. Now the good thing, for me, is the food … I really like most of the food I’ve had there - today I had butter chicken, channa and rajma. I had these with fresh rotis. It was a pretty good meal and got good portions for the price. We’ve been coming here off and on for years so would recommend if someone asked me if they had a hankering for some North Indian (Punjabi) foods … has pretty good selections of hot main dishes every time we’ve been …. it also has Indian sweets.

Not perfect food not perfect ambience but perfect Dhaba experience in Sunnyvale. Basic hearty Indian food at good prices - Parathas, Dal, Sabzi (veggies), not bad chicken dishes - like their chili chicken, Lassi, Chai, Mithai (sweets), Samosa and some other savory quick bites. People come here for take out but I also used to come here for lunch with my colleagues. Somehow perfect vibe for a casual conversation over lunch… don’t know why but the experience is pretty close to what you might get in a basic restaurant in India… maybe that’s the charm. Or maybe the no nonsense and unpretentious customer service. It’s run by hearty Punjabi ladies. Love the achar (pickle) and onion with the chapatis. There should be more places like this - casual, unpretentious and don’t break your wallet.

Extremely affordable Indian sweets and Punjabi dishes that taste homemade. You are not going to rajjot for gourmet meals. In the sweets the Bengali sweets taste delicious. In food, they make rotis fresh which is nice. Try the paneer paratha or the aloo paratha, both stuffed and we'll cooked. In the sabzi, the saag, bhindi and dal makhani are great. The mattar paneer is pretty ok. The service is ok, it is understandable that the staff is busy doing multiple things.

5 stars for the taste, but I came here to review the service/attitude... really 0 to 1 star. Here's my tirade: I have loved this place since 2006... so in 2024, I am visiting the Bay Area, and we decide to make a pit stop at rajjot just because of the fond memories. We buy 6 samosas. They give us enough chutney for maybe 3-4 samosas (see photo). Even the tiny contrainers are only half full. When we ping this out and ask for more chutney we are told very rudely (and the rudness is the reason I'm even bothering to leave a review) that they give that much chutney with 10 samosas. If this is indeed true, then they are taking their customers for a huge ride. Most likely, she was just too bothered to serve us, I guess. This place was a 5 star place for me for so many years, and now it is suddenly become 1 star and motivated me to leave a poor review just over their miserly attitude with the chutney. Ironically I was at madras dosa place just before this and they have me multiple refills of their chutney, and I visited rangoli right after and they had "chutney on the tap" and we just picked some up for the samosas we got from rajjot. They didn't mind. (We also bought a lot of sweets from rangoli, so it wasn't pure theft) All in all never going back to rajjot, and I'm sure they...

Hole in the wall restaraunt, but it has a lot of food to give. The interior of Rajjot is very nice. You feel like you have been transported to India and you are in some street food stall with mithais(desserts) right in front of you! I love how Rajjot hasn’t changed in almost 2 decades and it still gives quality, cheap, and authentic Indian food. I have only ever tried Rajjot’s parathas and they are SOOO good. The parathas are huge. One paratha is enough for dinner if you are hungry and they have plenty of options for parathas. You can get paneer, methi, aloo, and sweet parathas. The sweet parathas are my favorite because they are so unique and tasty. It is just simple syrup in that soft pillowy paratha and it is simple but really good. For the savory parathas I think you can also ask for some homemade raita( yogurt and cucumbers) which goes so well with the parathas! For some dessert I always end up getting their 4 milk cakes in a nice plastic box and they are so incredibly tasty and rich. After a little bit of time in the microwave they taste SOOO good. Super sweet and lots of ghee(clarified butter). OVERALL for the cheap pricing, great food, and hole in the wall experience I would definitely recommend Rajjot to others, and I know I am...
