So, one would have hoped for a great stay here. But alas, our stay was wrought with issues. ||||We just relocated to San Jose, and our first 8 nights were at the Corporate Inn. It started off ok, the rooms are a little tired and the cleaning was superficial. I checked in before the babes arrived and had to clean stains and dirt off furniture before she arrived so she did not start on me right away with cheapening on her with the hotel.||||Babes came to town needing to work. Hotel was to have WiFi everywhere. They do, it just is old and goes down most every night and needs rebooting in the morning. There was some story about the routers being in rooms and the gamers unplugging them to plug into wall jacks direct. Never made as much sense as hardware being old and needing replacement. Hotel did give a credit for the WiFi. ||||Free breakfast. Let's just say this is more Hampton Inn style breakfast vs Embassy Suites. It's food. ||||Now the biggy. The hotel is not secure and safe. We got broken into in the underground garage, in Sunnyvale. Someone got into the garage and broke out a window and took our stuff, in the hotels garage, yep. The hotel obviously knows they have an issue because the front clerk immediately raised his hands and said, "garage is posted, we aren't responsible". Did not assist, did not call cops, offer a phone, or anything. There 2 signs in parking area saying you are parking at our own risk, but who would think? It IS an insecure garage. Poor lighting and lack of cameras, exacerbate the problem. To date, the hotel is not offering any restitution. We think they are wrong and irresponsible. ||||Other security issues. They have maintenance issues. The key card operated front gate was taped open by management our whole stay. Anyone could walk in or out and anyone can get into their garage, unnoticed. Picture attached. Remember guys, you are staying here at your own risk. ||||The truly sad thing here, is that they are managed by the huge Interstate Hotel group, and that reimbursing us for our minor expenses would have made a crappy situation a less crappy one. But nope ... they dug in with the "not my fault" attitude. ||||FYI, there is an awesome Hyatt House up the road, and many other choices just down the street on El Camino, who may value a stronger relationship with...
Read moreCorporate Inn is a fantastic value, with a king room costing only $144 before tax, plus parking for $5/night. My complaints are minor enough that this is definitely worth a five-star rating and I'd stay again.
The hotel is clean and quiet, with covered outdoor walkways. The front desk was helpful and let me park a few hours early. The Wi-Fi is awesome blazing fast; 200 mbps symmetric. I had a second floor room near the back of the hotel and heard very little noise from El Camino Real (the large avenue out front) and only quiet footsteps from the room above.
The room has lots of space and the furnishings are sturdy. I appreciate the in-room kitchen for preparing food and storing leftovers (especially since there's a Safeway grocery store next door). The refrigerator makes a steady, quiet background buzz. There's plenty of sitting room, although the large TV is off to the side. The bed has nice lighting and is comfortably firm. The AC can get very cold and is relatively quiet, so I had no complaints. A handful of lightbulbs were burnt out around the room but most worked.
Finally, the bathroom is modern but doesn't have a floor towel or extra body towels. The shower gets hot but doesn't have handholds, a grippy floor, nor shelves. And the provided shower soaps have mold/gunk around the seals and have been opened despite claiming to be...
Read moreI had a reservation at the Corporate Inn Sunnyvale but I immediately canceled as soon as I called the hotel to ask questions about the Amenities. The man working the front desk that night answered my call and asked me what my question was, I began talking and he interrupted me and said he was busy with a customer and couldn't talk. I told him it was a quick question and he started speaking very rudely and said he was busy and didn't have time... Why would he answer the call in the first place and not just tell me initially that he needed to place me on hold. He would not even let me speak and kept on interrupting me saying "no I'm busy I cant answer any questions" and then asked for my number for a callback. I immediately hung up and canceled my reservation. I read other reviews about how horrible the front staff was but thought they must have been exaggerating. They aren't. I would seriously urge management to fire or retrain there front staff as they have lost a customer who could have been a potential repeat client for years. If you are planning to stay here be aware of the reviews regarding the front desk staff and take them to face value. on a side note I was being extremely polite and he was still...
