One day we went it was closed and said its closed for catering today. Again after few days we passed hy and it was again closed on Monday or something. Then after two weeks again I went with my kids. There was an Indian female party going on in the main hall. They had ajeeb strange curtains on the door. In the small hall there were 4 ladies sitting. One got up and greeted us. There was one girlish lady she laughed and hide her laughter again I noticed she laughed. And I again ignored. The third time she laughed I confronted her. I told her why are you laughing. Is there something funny about my face. She said I am not laughing at you. I said miss there is nobody else in the hall and your table is just 1 metre distance from mine and apparently I didn't hear any of your friends crack a joke and you are so ride you look at me and laugh. And this is just withing 3 minutes of my entering the restaurant. She was quiet after that. I ordered food. They brought papri chart first. I said it would have been better to serve everything together. After the papri chat as soon as me and my daughter start eating a lady from the kitchen comes and asks how is it. I mean it was okay. Not too good and not bad. I said okay. Then the biryani came and again she said how is everything. I mean pls let us eat first atleast. You bring one dish and then come to our table for a review and then when the customer says the biryani meat is not well done the rude lady tells me that this is how generally biryani meat is. I appear very white from my complexion so maybe she didn't think I was desi and knew how to cook. So I tell her Miss I cook biryani all the time so I know how well done the meat should be. For God sake don't ask the opinions of customers on every dish. And if you do ask then have the courage to listen to honest comments and digest them and work on improving. I had just landed the day before from Houston and you can imagine the first class Pakistani food we get there. The daigi biryani and the restaurants like ashars and my colachi. So to be honest this food couldn't even be compared. The biryani rice is hardly one average plate. The chicken tikka pizza had small cubes of chicken and hardly any cheese. The taste was okay. Later when I read the reviews I saw everyone mentioned about a rude lady here who was not good for business. So no wonder I fixed then right in the beginning. Towards the end a very decent guy came . Probably the owner. He brought the bill to my table and he asked for the opinion also and I replied in the same manner that the food is nice. We hard have any desi restaurants around and the few that are there they always cut back on quantity and quality despite knowing the authentic recipes. Just one request to the owner that these rude females need to be trained properly about customer service. They were sitting chatting around a table...
Read moreLet me just preface this review by saying that this place does not deserve 3.8 Stars it deserves at LEAST a 4.4, I would definitely recommend you visit. Let me tell you why.
Food? Exceedingly delicious with a nice level of spice. I like the fact that the pizza had a nice crisp to it, yet with a decent bit of flop around the middle, the cheese wasn't falling off, fresh flavors, easy to eat, appetizing. Nothing short of downright delicious.
All in all, quite good, better than expected. Blows so called "fast food pizza" out of the water, especially considering this isn't a speciality pizzeria. Definitely buying many varieties over time and eating different entrée as I revisit.
Gyro Pizza DESCRIPTION: A nice, solid structure, nice crisp, not too thin, spicy, good variety of toppings like lamb, cilantro, onion and what I assume is a house-specialty pizza sauce (tasted kind of like curry and pizza sauce?) I chose the hottest option for the gyro since my spice tolerance is quite high, would recommend medium if you want to some heat but don't regularly eat hot peppers.
Boneless Goat curry DESCRIPTION: Phenomenal. Perfect balance of seasonings, heat, potatoes, meat & rice portions, not too much of any one thing, perfect bite every time.
The service could have been a little better but honestly, it's fine, I don't mind. Fair prices, better than even seen in similar places (Think $12-$18 per entrée instead of 18 - $32, I've seen places that serve worse food in smaller portions for $32 this place was NOT like that at all)
Only thing I would knock this place for is the use of a plastic cup and plastic spoons for the faloodah, and no option for a paper take out container or paper bag. But since most business operate like that, I can't really knock a star off for that. A 5 star rating for not just meeting, but exceeding my expectations.
Pizza rating section:
Individual scale: 8/10 not the most MIND BLOWING pizza, but better than expected for a place that isn't a specialist pizzeria.
Dave Portnoy's One bite scale: I'm going to have to go with 6.2, a great base pizza but not extraordinary. You can compare it to a nice neopolitan, but not quite artisinal.
(8+ would be monstrously good score, reserved for authentic pizza from either Italy or a 120 year wood fired oven from New York, classic stuff. 10 is pretty much impossible to get, your average domino's or pizza hut would be a 2.4 at best on the...
Read moreMy family and I ate at this restaurants booth at India Fest yesterday. We paid $15 per combo that included butter chicken, chicken tikka, vegetable briyani and a samosa. In retrospect this should've been a great deal but what ended up happening is that we got all sauce and two small pieces of chicken with the butter chicken as well as one small piece of chicken tikka - which was not worth $15 in any way. The owner (I'm guessing), he wore glasses with red arms, he was unfriendly and seemed ungrateful for the business. He didn't acknowledge customers or smile he just snatched the money out of our hands. The little food that we did receive was good but due to our experience we wouldn't drive down south to dine at their actual restaurant. I was trying to contact their restaurant directly but (go fugure) their "contact us" link doesn't work on the restaurant website. What vendors don't seem to understand is that they represent their business and if you cheat people and treat people like they are inconveniencing you by spending money - we just won't spend at your establishment.
Per managements response, we DID read the huge sign and that is why we decided on eating at your food tent. What you fail to understand is that we weren't concerned with the price because we were aware of the prices prior to ordering - we were disappointed with the customer service (which seems to be an issue at your restaurant l, as well, according to reviews) and the fact that we were cheated when it came to how much food was given to paying customers. As far as speaking to one of the employees - we did. My dad said (twice) that all you were giving us was sauce and his comments were disregarded. I understand that these events can be costly but that's a decision that you make (to spend the money) when you decide to do events - the consumer should not have to "pay the cost" by getting cheated out of food because you're trying to penny pinch when you sign up to partake in an event. People should be treated fairly and given a decent serving for their money. We ate at several other tents throughout the day that did not cut corners the way that your tent did when it came to portions and customer service. I appreciate your offer to visit your restaurant but we will not be accepting. It is obvious that you choose to blame the customers instead of yourselves when you fall short on what your paying...
