I arrived to pick-up an order for delivery (for one of the popular online delivery app services) after 8:30 PM on Sunday. I'm assuming it was near closing time because there were no customers inside the restaurant and all of the employees were enjoying their time, talking to one another near the cash register.
It took about a minute for anyone's to acknowledge me. One of the employees let me know that the food was already ready and bagged at the other end of the ordering counter near the door that I just entered.
The bag was already stapled closed so I couldn't peak inside to make sure that all of the items that the customer ordered were inside. The receipt stapled to the outside of the bag also did not let me confirm whether or not the order was correct as the receipt only had the customers name and the order number.
The restaurant employees just told me that "everything was there". I wasn't given nor allowed to grab extra napkins or any plastic cutlery and again was told that "everything was there". That had me leaving feeling a little uneasy as my tips often depend on the little details which obviously were not that important to the restaurant employees.
This is just a temporary side gig to earn some extra income floor me but without the tips from my happy customers, the pay isn't even minimum wage and barely covers the fuel used on my own dime to deliver the food, much less the wear and tear on my vehicle.
Most customers don't realize that the delivery person is just that- a driver delivery person and that the RESTAURANTS DO NOT PAY US. WE ARE NOT AFFILIATED WITH THE RESTAURANT, we don't have anything to do with how the food is prepared or how long the restaurant takes to prepare the food or if we are even allowed to check the order or grab those little extra napkins, cutlery, condiments etc. If the restaurant doesn't get it right, it often reflects in our tips, to the point of IF the customer even chooses to tip AT ALL. They also don't realize that the "delivery fee" is NOT A TIP.
The restaurant looked clean and it smelled good. The customers food smelled delicious, the bag felt a bit weighty and it was still warm so I all I could do is take their word for it that the order was correct and "everything was there".
I did NOT get tipped with this delivery.
I am only giving 3 stars as although the establishment was clean and smelled good and I had no wait, I only came while there were no other customers during off-hours so I didn't get to see how this establishment is REALLY run, plus the emplyees seemed a little disengaged from me and it felt more like they wanted me out of the establishment than to go over the customers order with me (which they didn't) and verify that everything was...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Sunrise Pita Grill, and I must say, it was an experience worth raving about. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for the rest of the evening. Let's talk about the food - oh my goodness, where do I even begin? Every dish that graced our table was a culinary masterpiece. The pita bread was fresh and fluffy, the falafel was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, and don't even get me started on the hummus - it was like tasting a little piece of heaven. Each bite was bursting with flavor, and it was evident that the ingredients were of the highest quality. But what truly sets Sunrise Pita Grill apart is their exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. They were attentive, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering helpful recommendations and making sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. In addition to the incredible food and service, the atmosphere at Sunrise Pita Grill was cozy and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a casual lunch with friends or a romantic dinner for two. Overall, I cannot recommend Sunrise Pita Grill highly enough. If you're looking for delicious Mediterranean cuisine served with a smile, look no further than this hidden gem. Trust me, you won't be...
Read moreThe staff here is so friendly, they are very helpful, patient, and overall just very kind. They have different salad and bread options that I wasn’t very familiar with and the staff is eager to help and don’t act annoyed at all no matter how many questions you ask them, they always have a smile on their face. This makes visits to this place so stress-free. And to make it even better their falafel pita (the only thing I’ve tried as I eat vegan only) and it is a 10/10. They let you pick all the toppings that go into your pita; I get the jalapeño sauce (spicy), cucumber salad, purple cabbage, hummus, and tahini. They also have tomatoes and other toppings. I also got a chance to try their onion rings and those are probably the best onion rings I’ve ever had. So crispy, so delicious. Their menu also labels things vegetarian/vegan which is super helpful, everything they make is kosher! Very hard to find kosher places these days so I definitely appreciate that as well as I used to only eat kosher and used to have a hard time finding places to eat. Overall I would definitely recommend to try to stop by this place, you won’t regret it. Ever since I discovered it i’ve been going here...
