We ordered food on this past Friday night 10/18/2019 via the yelp app to pick up, because we didn't want to endure the long waiting that had been mentioned many times via reviews. We ordered the Conch Dinner w/ fries and collard greens, Fried Turkey Wing dinner w/Mac and cheese and green beans with a side of candied yams and we also ordered the seafood rice to go, the app advised us what time our order would be ready for pick up and we arrived there was a bit of a crowd Ashleigh was the front counter cashier I told her I was there to pick up an online order, order was ready to be picked up. Once we made it back home to eat, I must say I was not overly impressed. I would have preferred the turkey wings to be tender and they were not tender nor was there any seasonings very bland to taste. Mac and Cheese was good just a bit salty for my taste, the green beans was the bomb I loved the green beans with the smoked flavor from being cooked in smoked turkey wings I should have gotten an extra side of green beans instead of the yams because getting the yams was a big mistake the spices that they used over powered the yam I’m not sure if it was the cinnamon, nutmeg, or the clove but if I had to guess it would be the cloves over powering everything in the yams-somebody was too heavy handed and the syrup was a thicker than I have ever tasted on the candied yams. The collard greens were awesome, the fries you can't go wrong, the conch was good it was tender and not chewy great taste, beware because you're not going to get alot but it's really good conch. My biggest disappointment was the seafood rice that I read people rave so much about (don't believe the hype) my order of rice was so disappointing, the rice was hard and crunchy and stale as if it may have been a day or two old and they just heated up and put a half of a crab on top because that was the only thing that was fresh, I was told that there was supposed to be shrimp in the rice but none for me in addition the pieces of the imitation crab meat pieces that I did get was not fresh tasted old and hard and I expected the crab to at-least be moist and flavor was just a bunch of old bay sprinkled throughout the stale rice, can’t fool a foodie. Read moreI'm from Palm Beach County. I had business in Broward today and decided to get lunch at The Licking Sunrise because I LOVE The Licking @ Millenia in Orlando. I have to say I am completely disappointed. This was my FIRST visit to one of the south locations. The food was ok, but the service was HORRIBLE!!
We arrived around 1:45pm, and there were no other customers at the time. I couldn't help buy notice upon entrance, the employee that should be behind the counter is sitting in the waiting area on her personal phone. When she got up to service us, she stated dine-in was closed and it was carry-out only. I found that odd, but I hadn't planned on dining in, so it was of no consequence. She NEVER hung-up her personal call. Meanwhile, the whole time there was a permanent scowl on her face. Then, a [portly] staff member comes from the kitchen to bring out an order. She looked at me. Now, I believe in practicing etiquette and will greet others verbally or with a non-verbal gesture. I spoke and said, "Hello, beautiful." She looked at me and rolled her eyes. I tried to give Ms. T (the cashier, her name started with a "T") some encouraging words and let her know she's too beautiful too be frowning on such a beautiful day. She said she had a very trying morning. And, I explained someone was not afforded to see today.
Needless to say, I will NOT be visiting THIS location again, without some serious soft-skills training. As a licensed professional, who worked in the salon industry for 20+ years, one consistent characteristic in the psychology of the consumer, they aren't just paying for a good or service, they are paying for the EXPERIENCE! This is truly constructive feedback. The manager is an African-American woman. I salute you, Queen! Know that I want to see you succeed. But, as an HR professional, I hope the egregious behavior your staff demonstrated today, are in no way a reflection of your leadership.

I have no idea why else people in the hospitality industry are so rude. You call as a customer asking questions about the establishment and they say "that is not my job to know about pick up or delivery options" they are truly rude and I have no idea why the hostility on the FIRST breath of air they take to speak to a customer. For the quality food and establishment they try to uphold, the people could have a bit more class. Legit unruly behavior because NO ONE CARES. Don't use the cash option when ordering online because they will not prepare your food until you get there, nor will a disclaimer be present online (VERY NECESSARY!) EXPLAINING THE DELIVERY AND PICKUP OPTIONS, PAYMENT METHOD OPTIONS; THEY SO RUDLY SAID, THAT IS NOT MY JOB TO KNOW THAT INFORMATION THOUGH........... complete waste of TIME. I'm cool with paying card online but if there's a cash option, I should be notified my order will not be placed until I reach the establishment. Other establishments don't even operate this way when you pay cash so it should be expected someome should've explained it or it should be online.
