Pizza Hut — Restaurant in Surfside Beach

TL;DR: This place had atrocious customer service. Delivery driver at the store drove like a maniac and cussed someone out in the parking lot. Long wait time for food. Not worth it. Stay away.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. The pizza was pretty good but the customer service was awful. My grandfather who is 82 years old was with me and he ordered two pizzas for our family. They gave us a 40 minute wait, which seems incredibly long for two pizzas. This was not the worst of this visit though.

When my grandfather was ordering he had a coupon. The lady who originally rang us up was nice and patient with my grandfather, but she needed help from another lady with ringing up the order. The lady looked to be in her fifties. She looked to be white, wore glasses, and had mid to short length hair that was reddish brown with some grey in it. This lady had a HORRIBLE attitude. When we first arrived, she was arguing with another employee about her responsibilities and was right in front of customers. When we were ordering, my grandfather was trying to speak to her and she wouldnt look at him or talk to him. All she said was "I can't hear him" to her coworker and walked off without saying anything to him or even acknowledging him. This upset me but I decided to try to let it go.

While we were waiting outside after we had completed our order, this lady supposedly was in charge of some of the deliveries. She drove a red Ford Ranger, and she drove like a maniac. She sped through the parking lot, and when she had come back from her first delivery that we were present for there was a customer trying to park. She sped around them really fast and she was yelling and throwing her arm about while she whipped past them in a rage. She had gone off to do a second delivery, but by the time she came back we were inside trying to get our pizza. A gentleman came in and ordered and told the lady that helped us order that this same woman had cussed and yelled at him about parking in employee parking, even though there were really no signs that had specified that.

My grandfather was adamant that I just let it go and not leave any review. I'm usually not one to complain about much, but this lady was awful. I can't let an experience like that go. During this time I know there are people out there that would be desperate to have her job and could do it in a much more respectful fashion. I don't know what she is going through, but it is unacceptable to treat people this way. Keep in mind this was only about 50 minutes of her day that I had witnessed and experienced. I hope that maybe if she can't be helped, that someone will read this review and decide to save your money and use it somewhere else.

I wouldn't just walk away from this place, I would run. It's not worth sticking it out for. If I can help it, I will...

Update: I've now tried the buffet about 4 times in the past week. I still wouldn't order delivery but DON'T sleep on the buffet. It's freaking delicious and I give it two thumbs up. Highly recommend.

Previous Review: This is the story of two polar opposites. If you place a delivery order and get their staff, your pizza will arrive on time without a single issue. The downside is that you're going to get a DoorDash driver about 80% of the time and... well... let's just say you might not get your order, it might be bone cold, it might have entered a juggling competition, or it might arrive just fine. You never really know but most of the time there's some sort of issue.

Despite having eaten at this restaurant since I was a little kid when it first opened and still loving the food... I've stopped ordering delivery. I'm barely a mile from the store but I've had DoorDash drivers drive all the way down to Suck Bang Blow before calling me trying to find my neighborhood that's... about 6 years old and no other delivery service has issues with.

If they ever get rid of DoorDash I'll order here 2-3 times a week. Until then tho, it's a dine in only kind of place, and I hate dining in places - although with the buffet returning I may make an...

Ok so I randomly encountered this Pizza Hut specifically for its Buffet Lunch Special. So me and my family stopped by & dined in, we walked in and the guy at the front welcomed us and just told us to sit anywhere and he’ll serve us. Honestly never had to do that before lol. The guy came and served us with drinks & said to help ourselves to the Buffet! Never felt more happy & welcomed to dine in! All pizzas were great even for its small buffet size & variety. Good to know that the guy let me know that a new pizza was coming out and stuff when i went up for more. I think that if you wanted other food like wings you can ask to order them. Shout out to our server, the guy’s service was simple, quick & easy. Even if it was the smallest thing, that is the service that helps many customers & helps the business. I think there was a small team (like 2 other people) working the whole place which is kinda sad, so if you have a chance of coming here, please help them out & support these employees man fr. oh yea we came in at 8-5-25 btw, again come on down & support this Pizza Hut man cus it was...
