Today, Wednesday night, we stopped by at Lahori Kabab Restaurant for a dinner on our way from Virginia to New Jersey. I was pleasantly surprised and excited to see such a low prices in Pennsylvania in Pakistani Halal Restaurant, but I don't understand how our bill became $52....and we said No when we were asked if a receipt was needed. Later we realized that we paid more than we were expecting..... We had: 1 chicken korma ($10.99) 1 chicken Haleem ($12.99) Both dishes come with 1 naan or plain rice, but we took instead 1 roti and 1 Roghni naan, and added 2nd roghni naan a bit later. 2 teas ($1.95.each) 1 lb of barfi (I don't know the price, it wasn't written anywhere). Aside the confusion with the bill, the food tasted good, especially chicken korma. My husband, who is a haleem lover, wasn't fan of haleem served here, but he said it tasted normal. Roghni naan, tea and barfi tasted outstanding. While dining in we saw people of many ethnic origins coming to pick up their take out foods, also 3 tables were occupied by dine iners. The food was served in cute metal bowls, and ceramic plates were provided, and....plastic spoons and forks....which didn't match the setting..... I, personally, and many other people against plastic utensils because of the bad effect to health and to the environment. This restaurant is nice looking and already have beautiful servewear, I believe metal spoons and forks will just add value to this restaurant. Service was good and kind of fast. The front Lady was very polite and nice. There is a bathroom, and it was clean. My suggestions: 1.please provide reusable utensils for dining in customers Please help customers to understand their bills easier. Maybe mention in the menu barfi and baklava prices. Those items are not even on the menu. People will order them too. Also, if there are credit card fees and cash prices, I believe that should be mentioned somewhere. That I consider a minor setback which could have been resolved on the spot if we paid better attention another counter. I still give 5 stars, because I loved the restaurant.

Read moreThe restaurant is located in Dauphin plaza shopping mall with many places to shop and eat. The interior was dated but had ample seating area. When we stopped by on a weekday for dinner, the place dead; we were the only ones there. The guy taking orders up front wasn’t very friendly and didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. They had two menus—paper and laminated. The laminated menus were pixelated and we could barely read the items and their description on it. The paper menu was clearer, but the prices on the menus didn’t match. When we asked the guy questions about the menu and what he recommended, he barely replied, and told us to get whatever we want. We felt like a burden coming to the restaurant.
We ordered the mixed grill and lamb karahi. He asked us to pay up front, but we didn’t know how our 2 entrees came up to ~$40. According to their paper menu, mixed grill is $15 and lamb karahi is $14. When the food arrived, the mixed grill didn’t match the menu. It was all chicken items, when the menu said lamb chops. In fact, the menu said 3 pieces of tandoori chicken and 3 pieces of kabob, when they only gave us 2 pieces of each and no lamb chops. They should rename the entree to “mixed chicken grill.” We didn’t say anything about the fact that the food did not match the menu description nor the listed price. The rice wasn’t enough for the entree portion. The lamb karahi barely had meat. It was mostly bones and a lot of sauce; it came with a naan bread.
Management really needs to update their menu to reflect actual dish description and prices. The guy up front was unhelpful when taking our order and didn’t come by to see if we needed anything. Customer service definitely needs to be worked on. Due to our experience, unfortunately we don’t think we’ll come back and can’t...
Read moreWhere do I start? They told me delivery would take about 45 minutes. It took almost twice that long, and when I called to ask if the driver would arrive soon, they were just like, "Yeah," and not the least bit apologetic. The driver called me when he arrived, but couldn't even be bothered to come to the door, he just parked in the street and waited for me to come to him. He was on the phone when he got out of his luxury SUV, and remained on the phone the whole time he was "interacting" with me. The food was decent, but I've had the eggplant dish at other Indian restaurants before and they always ask you if you want it spicy or not. Apparently they don't care at this place, so they just made it extra spicy and I could barely eat any of it because of that. My boyfriend, who actually does usually like spicy food, said that it was even too spicy for him.. I will never order from them again. Not so much because of the last thing, but because of the other reasons. They don't seem to care about the customers' experience. Next time I'll drive the extra 10 minutes out of my way to go to Passage To India or some other place. A...
