Papa Joe's Pizza and Subs — Restaurant in Swatara Township

For the record, the food is great. As for the service, HORRIBLE. Today, I called in to place an order for delivery. The man asked for my phone number, and then said that they don't deliver to my area. I kindly said "oh that's weird we order from you all the time, but I-" and he rudely cut me off and said "yeah yeah, you ordered here before have a nice day" and hung up the phone on me. I then called back and asked to speak to a manager, and they had me waiting for 8 minutes on the phone, and after 8 minutes of waiting, they hung up the phone. I then called a THIRD time and I asked for a manager and he said he was one. So I went with it and told him what had happened and said that they left a note on their system to not deliver to my house. I will remind you that we have never had ANY problems with this place up until today. Not one. I am done with this place and I hope none of you have to have that...

We are from the NY/NJ area and stayed at the hotel across from Papa Joe's. Let me tell you, this is the only pizza shop we ate in ever so far in PA that was not 'PA style food!" We ordered from them for 3 nights. Pizza delicious, cheesesteak delicious, hamburgers and fries delicious, and my broccoli and cheese stromboli, I chose the biggest one to share was fresh, amazing, and they followed my requests and was made exactly how I wanted! We truly enjoyed our meals from there and they definitely 'do not' use PA ingredients. This was NY/NJ style and tasting food. My only negative which I can understand was the garlic knots. I have been a customer of Papa Joe's Pizza for two years. I'm a Stage 4 Cancer patient and I'm not always able to cook for myself. They are one of the few places that offers fresh margharita pizza. I always pay up front and include a tip for the driver.

During the lockdown I was told they won't be delivering to large apartment buildings. I just called today and they said they still aren't delivering to my location. When I asked why the person on the phone got short with me and just flippantly replied is all it takes is just one and hung up on me.

I think this treatment of long time paying customers is unacceptable and I will no longer patronize or recommend them as a business.
