My household's been ordering from here for years, but today this Domino's acted completely unethically. The employee and manager showed the absolute worst customer service I've ever seen. My 78 year old grandmother placed an order by phone. She speaks spanish and doesn't know how to refer to the 2 or more mix n match deal. She was ordering 2 medium pizzas and a pasta and was told the full price of each item. She was confused and asked if the typical deal she'd used before was available. She was told there was no deal and that their cheapest pizza was the 8.99. (omitting or obfuscating that these were small)
My grandma figured that must be what she usually gets since before they've more readily understood she's asking for the mix n match deal. (Keep in mind, Domino's has our account information and history and when she called in they immediately could see our previous orders and account, she's ordered their multiple times a year) What she ended up getting was 2 small pizzas and a cheese dip with twists. For 8.99 each pizza and the dip.
I confirmed online and the mix n match deal was in fact available. This should have been 6.99 for each MEDIUM pizza and the pasta. What we got were two uselessly small pizzas for the house and she didn't even get the pasta she'd order. She paid cash and the delivery person left no receipt nor did the boxes have any sale info attached which makes it all the more suspicious and difficult to complain to Domino's
She called the store twice. The first time it was answered by the person who originally took the call who played dumb about the available discount. The second call, my grandma spoke with the store manager who did hear her out but refused any kind of refund or credit unless she drove to the store to bring back the pizza delivered. This being requested 8:30pm on a Friday night of a 78 year old woman is absurd in itself, the order was for delivery for a reason. To add to the absurdity, she'd asked for pasta and got a cheese dip instead and she'd asked for no sauce and the pizza came with sauce.
A simple solution would have been to own up to the mistake in communication, send the correct pizzas, offer an extra side to make up the difference in price and have the delivery person pick up the wrong order while he's there. Instead this Domino's chose to take advantage of an older lady ordering out for a Friday night dinner, make her overpay for less, send the wrong order anyway, and then refused to make it right for her.
It's not the first mistake this Domino's has made with us, but it's by far the most egregious and where before they'd been more than willing to make things right it seems in this case they wanted the easy money to be made off an elderly...
Read moreI'm sorry, but the last several times the delivery was very late. This order though took the cake. We waited over three hours, and still no pizza. during those three hours we called the store several times. The first time the person said it should be nearby if the order says it's complete and that we should wait 5 minutes. We called again 30 minutes later and we were immediately put on hold. And we had to made to wait 10 minutes before we hung up and called again. We called complained and were put on hold to wait another 10 minutes until we hung up again. We called a final time were we put on hold again and decided to wait out the call while we made dinner (since by now it was passed two hours late) and we were forced to wait 43 minutes and 39 seconds on hold until the manager finally picked up the phone. And the excuse we were given was that the driver came by and said the house was abandoned, and that he called our phone twice. the manager then told him to bring it back because we wouldn't want our pizza cold and that after 30 minutes waiting they would throw it away. Our house has children's toy cars outside and the windows were open with house lights on. There was no way possible for him to confuse our house with an abandoned house. Secondly, the driver never called us, because we had the phone with us the whole time and it did not receive a call. I checked recent calls, nothing. And to top it off the manager told the driver we wouldn't want our pizza because it was cold... we have an oven and a microwave we would have still eaten the pizza. I'm sorry, but this whole situation was unacceptable. If I could give this rating ZERO stars I would, but unfortunately I can't. I will not be ordering from this domino's again, and since this is the only domino's that delivers to my address I guess that means I won't be ordering domino's ever again. Also, you should look at the google reviews for this store, because many people have experienced similar situations where the driver never delivers the pizza. P.S. We think it was weird that on google it went from 2.7 to 3.7 in less than 5 minutes, and several people with me saw it and said it...
Read moreHorrible: Tonight, I ordered a pizza to be delivered to my building at FIU. I called in my order at 8:35pm. Was told it would be 45 min for delivery. I was told the driver would call me when he arrives. I called them at 9:40pm to ask about my order since it had been over an hour. I was made to hold before speaking with anyone for almost 15 minutes. I finally spoke to someone at 9:55pm. He said the delivery driver got to my location at 8:52pm and called my cellphone but I didn't respond. He tried for a while to convince me that I had messed up the phone number which made no sense since they used the correct phone number to look up my order. A better employee got on the phone and I was given the option to get a pizza with a free coke for the inconvenience. I asked how long it would take to deliver it. He said 30 minutes. The store is 3 minutes from FIU. I asked for my money back. He agreed to credit my card. So I order at 8:35pm, then dominos makes a mistake and doesn't really do much to fix it. I don't blame anyone for making a simple mistake, it can happen to anyone. but what a terrible response to the mistake. A free coke and another 30 minute wait after waiting for so long? Here's what a really good response would've looked like: "Sorry we messed up your order, we will send someone RIGHT NOW. We can remake your pizza as fast as we can and have someone there right away. We will waive your delivery fee and credit it back to your card. We'll have your pizza to you immediately". Instead it seems my new order would go right into the pizza line with other people...
