I tried the FH for the first time at 11:15am on Sunday, 9/29. I had to wait a couple minutes before someone came to the front since they had just opened for the day at 11am, and I assume I was the first customer. (Perhaps they need a bell to tell them when the door opens.) The menu boards were not operating when I arrived, but I already knew what wanted. I ordered a Gyro Wrap, 6-piece Falafel, and a bottle of water for dine-in for a total of $19.92 with tax but before tip, which is comparable to other similar restaurants.
They have seating for up to 23 people via 4 tables with 4 chairs each plus two counters at the front windows with 7 high seats total. They have two coolers with cans and bottles of soft drinks, teas, and water. There is no decor of any type, but perhaps that will change. (They have been open approximately 3 months as of this review.)
My food was made fresh and was ready in only 7 minutes. The gyro wrap was very good and had a very generous amount of freshly shaved gyro meat with lettuce, tomatoes, and tzatziki sauce on a pita (that was browned on the griddle). The falafel was also very good and was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and served with a tasty dipping sauce. I also received 8 pieces of falafel (2 more than ordered).
By the way, the Falafel House is related to SM Steak and Lemonade, which is just around the corner and to which I gave 5 stars on 7/31. I encourage you to visit both...
Read moreI was very excited when I noticed Falafel House had opened as I’m a long-time lover of falafel, and I finally got the chance to try it! The falafel is very and good, crispy and fresh and not dry or crumbly, and the portion size for the platters are very generous. I wasn’t sure I would be able to finish it all, but it tasted so good, I was able to triumph. I was especially surprised at how good the side salad served with the falafel platter was, which definitely makes me want to try some of their salads in the future.
My boyfriend got the gyro wrap which he also enjoyed. The portion size is smaller, which makes sense given the price difference, so I would suggest the platter if you’re super hungry, and the wrap for something lighter like a lunch.
The falafel platter comes with 12 falafel pieces, hummus, and salad, and the rest of the meat platters come with rice and salad. I’m definitely looking forward to trying more food from here!
(Don’t mind the small gouge in the hummus, I was unable to resist trying the falafel before snapping a picture, and am now realizing I was given 13 falafel pieces...
Read moreI discovered Falafel House at Harper’s Point through Google while looking for a well-rated Mediterranean spot—and I’m so glad I did! This place absolutely lives up to its top ratings. They serve some of the best falafel and shawarma in the Greater Cincinnati area.
We ordered the Gyro/Chicken Mix Shawarma, Grilled Chicken Sandwich, and Beef Shawarma, along with fries. Everything was freshly made, bursting with flavor, and perfectly balanced. The fries were crisp and golden, and the sandwiches were packed with well-seasoned, juicy meat.
If you go (and you should!), my top recommendation is to try the Gyro/Chicken Mix Shawarma and Falafel. You won’t be disappointed!
Only suggestion to Restaurant Owners: it would be great to see a few more sauce options like Samourai or Andalouse sauce added to the menu.
Loved the experience and will definitely be...
