I went into Hughes around 7:30 pm on Valentine's day with my girlfriend. We had a reservation so upon our arrival we were seated immediately(in the corner of a room, with barely enough room to sit) by a polite young hostess. The room is about the size of a standard bedroom except it is crammed with 4 chairs to each of the 4 tables in the room.
We began this calamity with a couple appetizers, mozzarella sticks and wings. Both unusually warm, but very good.
Next was the main course. My girlfriend ordered fettuccine Alfredo pasta which was delicious. I ordered a medium sirloin, mash potatoes, and the soup of the day. My mash potatoes were luke warm, and the soup of the day is best compared to the highly watered down cabbage stew in âWilly Wonka & The Chocolate Factoryâ. The steak was extremely bland, when I say âextremelyâ, I am not exaggerating. It had no smell, no taste, and was awfully tough. The though that immediately proceeded the first bite of my steak was âThey must have a bunch of teenagers working in the kitchenâ. However, the Lime Ricky I ordered was sharp and refreshing.
Background music was modern, that equivalent to 97.1 or 99.5.
Environment was modern as well. A cross between a sports bar and a updated Rickenbackers. Our table was sticky, wet and wobbly. The staff I spoke...
Read moreWe had had several friends say that we needed to come try this place. Upon arrival there was a 15-minute wait and then we were seated as promised. Our waitress Ashley was probably one of the best waitresses that I had encountered. Having never been there she probably recommended a few dishes. I had the Portobello chicken and my wife had the Hawaiian hamburger. The hamburger was absolutely amazing and I thought it was better than my dish. The portobello mushroom was not my favorite but it was okay when I mention this to the waitress she said is there anything that we could do swap it out or anything. I am not a picky person but to my surprise she refunded my meal which I did not ask for nor expect. One of my favorite things there was the beer batter bread. It was so good we asked her to bring a second one. I nearly filled up on the bread it was so good. We ended up purchasing a pouch to make the bread at our home. And as a sweet treat the waitress gave us two of their sugar cookies. They were amazing. My overall opinion was the customer service here was spot on and although my dish wasn't the best I will definitely be returning and trying something else because I know their other dishes are probably just top notch. The food was presentable in such a way that was pleasing to...
Read moreWill someone train the hostess personnel betterâŚupon entering this location today my brother and I were greeted by âPeytonâ and she asked âcan I help you with anything?â As opposed to saying hello and or asking us how weâre doing instead. Obviously when people enter your establishment theyâre there to eat right? Right! So I donât understand why she asked that question. And I noticed she said the same question to others that entered after we had sat down. Itâs very off putting and doesnât make sense. The atmosphere is very hum drum. Our server was great. Didnât catch her name but sheâs blonde haired. Food is good all around. The bread was cold though and itâs usually warmer when weâve been before. Weâve been here before several times over the years but the hostess really needs more training on social skills and interaction. UPDATE: visited again just today on May 31st. The girl Peyton still asks the same question upon entering. She obviously has not been talked to. The manager lady was standing right next to her. Sheâs not very friendly either. Our server was great though! Food was great. But that service at the frontâŚpiss...
