Cider & Cedar — Restaurant in Tacoma

I feel terrible even having to write a negative review about this place. Me and my husband have visited this place from Portland often several times and had really great experience with the owners. We love the ambience, the effort put in by the owner to carve the wood meticulously and the vibe of the place. But today when we came back to revisit with excitement, we experienced such a bad service! We ordered air fried chicken wings around 7 pm and at 7:40 when we checked in about the status, the person at the tap told us that the wings weren’t even started. He said he could cancel the wings if we were in a hurry and so, we had to cancel! When we told him that we didn’t expect that much of a wait, he cut me short saying, “ you should expect for a long wait time when you are expecting delicious food!” I’m so disappointed and dismayed by his rude response. I also ended up tipping him for the food I never received and had to experience his rudeness at the end of it! I hope the owners who are really nice and kind people look into this and hire people who are more understanding and...

Full disclosure,we meet the owners through mutual friends and have known them for few months now. Despite the fact they are the nicest unpretentious people you have ever met -this review is solely based on real evaluation on thier place,the feel ,and the ciders they offer.

First the place is warm and cozy. The woodwork that the owners did is superb and toped with the green plants they have all over the place- makes you feel like you are entering oasis. The bathroom has a trippy pink light and mostly I ust what to sit in there and not use the bathroom - because it feels like you are in another world. It's very cool 😊. All the table and the tap handles are incorporated in the wood work which makes it feel like that is how it was meant to be. After all..the cider they do serve is elixir and sweet nectar you don't get to try in other place.Customer service is excellent as well

Then there are the ciders -so many choices of great ciders you don't find anywhere. The one I had was lavander bergamot which i could not stop drinking! I could taste the flavors...

Wish I could give more stars. The only thing wrong with this place is that more people do not know about it. The owners were behind the bar with an awesome story for each piece of wood/furniture, and great recommendations for drinks and food. The jalapeño bites with goat cheese and CANDIED BACON were delicious. I loved my lavender bergamot cider. Can’t wait to bring more people here. I know they have plans in the mix, but I think a small live band every once in a while would be AMAZING!

Conveniently placed in Tacoma, walking distance (6 minutes) from places like Dorky’s. Perfect for a date, meeting up with friends to play board games, a light brunch spot and many other things. Beautiful atmosphere with lots of live plants, reclaimed wood and metal that is all sourced from Ruby Beach or Tacoma itself.

Would absolutely recommend if you enjoy a bar not just to drink, but for the energy and company you can have when...
