My husband brought up dining at La Cà after hearing it from a coworker. Upon entering, my immediate thoughts were, “cute, small, clean.” But, after eating my tofu bánh mì, my thoughts expanded to, “pure, fresh, delicious, excellent customer service. Definitely would come back.” For being a staple Vietnamese street food, my tofu bánh mì was plated so elegantly. The bread and veggies were fresh, with the bread being soft and the veggies crunchy. One would predict the tofu was quite literally, “chef’s kiss.” This is a plate I’d order every time and have my husband order something different to try. As a mom of a toddler and a one year old, I usually choose take-out, especially at the sight of a small restaurant. However, they offer booster seats and high chairs to accommodate families with children. Also a plus, they were playing an animated film, so from time to time, our kids enjoyed it. They don’t have a kids menu or smaller portioned plate options for kids. However, it wasn’t a big deal as we ended up ordering our toddler the roasted chicken noodle soup, of which she savored and because it was a large serving, we all got to enjoy. The chicken was tender, the noodles tasted perfectly cooked, the soup itself was what I described as “pure and fresh.” I could eat this soup in cold and hot weather. Overall, this is a place I would suggest to anyone and everyone! I look forward to coming back and trying a new drink and dish (along with reordering my tofu bánh mì).

I got the chicken with rice dish, beef pho, Thai tea, and the salmon spring rolls. The rice dish was amazing, the chicken is cooked so perfectly and taste so rich. It’s perfect with sriracha. It has great crunch. The rice is different, but it was also very good. My partner thought the pho was solid, the portion was large. The spring rolls weren’t our favourite. I felt like the salmon was really overpowered by all the basil, I also had a hard time eating it because it fell apart. The tea was good too! I wish it had less milk though. The atmosphere is definitely a bar. I didn’t see much other seating. It’s a very small room. Overall, it was very enjoyable. Specifically for the rice dish. We spent $58. You can tell how much care and time they put into cooking everything, and the portions were a good size.

🚨 HIDDEN GEM 🚨 This is the kinda place you kick yourself for not trying sooner! The restaurant itself has a house look from the outside which is unexpected but inside it is tastefully remodeled with an ambiance that puts it way above most Asian restaurants. Like true "go on a date" aesthetic. The food is to die for!!! Had a couple of apps(grilled pork fresh rolls + shrimp and pork belly crispy rolls), and the grilled steak vermicelli and I'm salivating while writing this! The sweet and savory roasted peanut sauce served with the rolls was to die for. Everything was fresh and made to order. All of it was comparable to local Vietnamese restaurant pricing but way better. I highly recommend this place and will frequent it myself!

We have frequented their first location when they had probably the best happy hour menu that we drove from Federal Way weekly. I heard they recently opened up a second location which is great as the parking at their first location is super small and limited. I also signed up for their deals on Facebook and had an offer for a buy one get one free banh mi which we haven't tried from here.

As we entered, we were greeted by a friendly male waiter who told us to seat ourselves anywhere. We decided on a table and we were given water and menus. We decided to go with the Banh Mi Pho as my boyfriend had originally wanted pho cause he wanted some hot, but I told him this came with a bowl of pho broth and is like a Vietnamese French dip. The waiter told us that was a great choice and one of their popular ones. They also have the jalapeños on the side (though they will put in for take out orders) which is great as my boyfriend asks for jalapeños to be taken away so I got them. The hot chili oil they have on the table is great and added a perfect kick to my banh mi and broth. The sandwich did start falling apart with each dip so it got messy and I had to grab everything by hand. I should have asked for utensils but since the waiter was doing other stuff, I didn't want to bother him. Service is very casual, the waiter would check on us once and refilled our water once. The waiter spent most of his time talking with staff.

The inside of the restaurant has a bit of a dim lighting with a modern look. The bar looks really nice. There were several TVs playing different medias from movies to a sports match. The restaurant can definitely accommodate several party sizes and is a lot bigger than I originally though. The bathroom was clean, but they did run out of paper towels so I had to use toilet paper to wipe my hands.

I'm hesitant to come back as the prices for their phos are more expensive ($18) than most pho places for one size so we might just be back for banh mis or appetizers. Pretty solid...

When we arrived on a Saturday, we were told by the server that they were "overwhelmed" and we could take a seat, but it "would be a bit." All the tables were seated, though no one was standing around. The general attitude was a bit off-putting...

It was over 25 minutes before we got asked what we would like to drink. Water even would have been nice? The tables were full when we walked in, but 10 minutes after, half were cleared. When we were finally able to order food and drinks, our appetizer didn't make it out. The food was excellent, kudos to the kitchen! The second server that came in just after we placed our order made a huge difference. He re-fired our appetizer and didn't charge it to the bill. Our drinks were topped before they were empty after that.

We walked way satisfied after a really rocky start on our first experience at...
