NANA THAI | STREET FOOD — Restaurant in Tacoma

PLEASE do yourself a favor and go to Nana Thai - they are fabulous!!!! Seriously, these folks know Thai!! We have just found our new favorite Thai food place!! Insanely delicious dishes ( and we are picky when it comes to Thai) that are wok-hot, perfectly seasoned, and just such a pleasure to eat! They use high- quality ingredients in the dishes we ate ( Thai Basil Beef, Chicken Panang and Crab Wontons) that had an amazing balance of meat, spices, vegetables and sauces. The Thai Basil Beef, in particular, was spectacular with nice big chunks of very flavorful beef, mushrooms, onions and plenty of great basil! A nice little kick of heat with chili produced an outstanding dish. The Panang was divine as well!! The Crab Wontons were stuffed with a delicious crabby filling and fried nice and crispy. Loved them with their great chili sauce. We can't think of a meal we've enjoyed this much in a long time! The server was very sweet and friendly. Just a wonderful experience! We highly recommend Nana Thai. It is in the Freighthouse Center and well worth a visit. We will definitely be back and have already recommended them to our family...

Ok so this was just shortly after we had eaten at Zeeks but I had to get something here because I used their restroom and you have to get a code from the vendors. So this place is in a food hall that located next to the train terminal by the Tacoma Dome. They had crab fried rice on the menu so I decided to try it. Wasn’t really hungry but I had to buy something. My wife is a seafood snob so I figured since it was near the ocean I would be getting fresh crab however that wasn’t the case. Now don’t let that deter you because the crab rice was outstanding. The young man that cooked it did a fantastic job of cooking it. Yes I watched him do his magic. I will say you will want to leave your windows down as you transport this dish because your car will be aromatic for a while. The garlic butter sauce that was given to pour over it was sooo good on the rice I about burst trying to consume as much of it as I could because Sharlena wasn’t going to let me bring it back on the train lol. Please check these guys out....

Huge shoutout to Ashley at Nana Thai. Came in to try for the first time. Not only the food was amazing and lots of flavor, Ashley’s customer service is above and beyond. We ordered the phad Thai with chicken and medium heat and the Thai coffee to drink. I must say we enjoyed the flavors in the phad Thai one of the best we had by far! This restaurant is located across the Tacoma Dome (next to the sound transit train) there’s a few other restaurants around too. Parking is limited on street but I’m sure you can park at the transit center for a while. Thanks Ashley we will be back for more.

Update review 4/4/25 Our 2nd visit at Nana Thai and always such a great experience. Owners Boom and Ashley are super amazing and the food… I just can’t say how much flavor and quality is in this place. That crispy garlic chicken was sooo flavorful and the crisp is just perfect! Thanks to Boom for cooking yummy food and to Ashley’s wonderful friendly service! Love this place! Go see them!!...
