Best Teriyaki in Tacoma...hands down. Huge portions and decent prices. I've frequented this place often despite the young girl who often works the front counter. On multiple occasions she has been condescending and down right rude and disrespectful. On one occasion I asked her why I only got one salad with my to go order when other times I received a salad for each meal. She rudely explains that the meal doesn't come with salad.... I get the same food each time and weird there is no salad this time. She with all the attitude in the world gets another box of salad and plops it on the counter in front of me and says "for you, but only this time" then walks away. Another time I came in with a friend and all the booths were empty and dirty with food and dishes. After ordering we approached & asked her if someone was available to wipe down a table for us. She threw her hands in the air and rolled her eyes & said to us "does it look like it?" I told her it was ok to just make our order to go. She grabbed a rag and as pissy as ever walked over and began wiping down a table for us...a quick moment later she walked back to the register and said very condescending "there, for you!" My friend and I were so disgusted with her behavior that I didn't return for several months. A few weeks ago I took my mother there and bragged how wonderful the food was. We had a good experience, good service, good food, clean tables. The young girl who is normally at the register was dinning in with others at the booth behind us...she commented many times to a young boy sitting with her how she can't stand the dumb customers. My mother brought this to my attention once we got to the car. How unprofessional of her. Today we dined at this establishment for the very last time... my mother was craving Teriyaki, so I picked her up and brought her there since she loved the food last time. I ordered my food and my mother needed to use the restroom, by the time my mother came back out my food had been placed on a table in the dining room, my mother still had not placed her order, as someone else had came in line and I allowed them to order while I waited on my mom. I asked the young girl at the counter if she could hold my food so it would remain warm until my mother's was ready as well. She rolled her eyes and ignored my request. I brought my food back up to the counter and again asked if she could hold it and bring it out when the rest was complete. My mother has dementia and was having some difficulty placing her order and the girl had no patience with her, rolling her eyes and rudely correcting her. It took a few minutes to determine what it was she wanted. Once our food came my plate had been remade. This time my salad was drenched in a dressing...I have a food allergy. I politely approached the counter and began explaining to the girl I probably should have asked prior, but I could not have the dressing and asked her if she could replace the salad portion. She aggressively grabbed my plate from me and tossed my meal into a bin behind her in the kitchen and began hollering in another language to the kitchen staff. I was so shocked and disgusted by her behavior that I asked for a refund. I was not going to dine in any place who treats customers this way. My mother approached the counter unaware of what was going on with a completely different unrelated concern about her meat being burnt and she was unable to chew it. The girl then began hollering at my mother saying "I not refunding you nothing...it already go out, you get nothing back!" She then got on the phone with what sounded like her grandmother telling her she needed to get there immediately. When the woman arrived we got partially refunded. The girl proceeded to holler at me and my mother calling us stupid in front of my son and a growing crowd of new customers. All in all this woman should not have a job as she does at this establishment...or any job in customer service until she gains a better understanding of how to present herself and act while dealing with the...
Read morethis place is horrible. the man at the counter was incredibly rude. my family and i used to always go here for our teriyaki and i live in a family of 8. the service was a 6/10 back then and the employees were not nice but not rude. they want you out of the restaurant quick. my families and my own along with my friends experiences with this teriyaki place has become horrendous. for the past few months, the service has become alright to absolutely terrible. the employees are horribly rude. they always forget to give food to you like salads or extra sauces and you can leave without all your purchased food. i have dealt with this for months and never went back to complain. i have learned to always check your bag for ALL your food before you leave. i went back ONE time to ask for my salads on my order and i ordered multiple boxes for my family. i go back with my girlfriend and she asks for the missing salad and the man at the counter was incredibly rude and reluctantly gave one salad. ONLY ONE. absolutely refused to give more. we were polite to him and he was horrible to us as customers. after we left with the salad, we come home to find that they gave my sister spicy chicken when we ordered regular chicken and we call the place. the man picks up and is super rude over the phone and tells us to come back with the food. we had to waste our gas going back twice, a total of 3 times to the place and he rudely takes our food away and throws it away in front of us and goes in the back for a few minutes and brings us the regular chicken and rudely gives it us like its our fault they got our order wrong. the regular chicken was a dollar cheaper and we ask him politely for the dollar and he just says he will give us sauces and didn't give us a chance to reply no and brings us soy sauce which we don't like and we politely said we would prefer the dollar. he reaches into the tip jar and pulls out a dollar and shoves it in my face and its not a paper dollar which there was a few, it was 4 quarters and also didn't give us back the 10% tax from the extra dollar. he shoves it in my face and says "Never come back" and mumbles a few things i didn't understand. they blame the customer for their mistakes and this isn't a business that should be allowed to continue. NEVER GO HERE!!! the service is HORRIBLE and the food is not good enough for the horrible way they treat you as customers. there are many other places to go and they act like they are the only ones. i wish i could give 0 stars to this...
Read moreI used to love going to the restaurant because the food is really good, but I think a new owner has taken over and the service is horrible. I ate in the restaurant with me family and ordered a meal for 4. I told the gentleman taking my order that we were eating in the restaurant. We waited about 25 minutes for our food to arrive and it was all boxed up to go. I reminded him that it was for here and he just ripped the bag open and pushed it at us saying "just eat it". I was appalled at his behavior, but we just tried to get past that because it honestly wasn't a major inconvienance having it in to go containers to eat. That was until we tried asking for plates so we could dish ourselves the food. This was a major inconienance for the cashier and he seemed irritated. We eventually got some plates and then discovered that he did not include salad dressing .I went up to the counter to request some dressing and was greeted with irritation that I was requesting what I should have been given in the first place. It was a terrible customer service experience and it has steered me away from this restaurant which is really unfortunate because the food is actually good. I think this may be a new owner, but he is cocky and rude. I tried to go back in again last week and he was working. I heard him giving another customer grief and just...
