DON'T BUY A GUN HERE! Absolutely the worst gun-buying experience I've ever had in my life! I pretty much never leave bad reviews, but today they earned this one! The wait times are just ridiculous and a staff that doesn't appear to care. To make it worse, in my hours of waiting (combined over 2 trips), I watched the apparent "manager" of the gun counter treat customers rudely and talk down to them. It was actually uncomfortable to watch how he was talking to people, especially the elderly gentleman who was at the counter in front of me! When it was finally my turn, he called me up to the counter and after waiting there for almost 2 hrs, I get greeted with "What's up with you this morning?" as he's staring at me like I'm like guilty of something! Bro, seriously??! WTH!!? What a total JERK! (There's actually a much better word, which I won't try to use here!!) After a few more rude exchanges, that should have been completely friendly and routine, I was now unfortunately at the point where I felt it best to remove myself and I walked out. No sale, no way!!! To heck with this place! I won't detail my background, but every customer, especially those who may have worn uniforms, deserve to be treated better than this!! Also, it wasn't that he was just having a "bad day" today. I purchased another gun there a couple yrs ago and it was the same guy, same attitude. Not only will I never buy another gun here, I will never step foot into this store again!! We bought a Tahoe boat here a few yrs ago, and the customer service was OK at first but in recent years, it was pretty much non-existent! Unless you're buying clothes or beef jerky, avoid this place!! I did eventually get a refund over the phone and found the same gun for the same price at a different large sporting goods store where I already know I'll be treated with courtesy and respect! By reading many other reviews here with the same issue, your reply to every negative comment is basically "We are very sorry to hear about your experience. We will be sure to pass this along to store management to look into." Yet, the problem doesn't ever get dealt with. Bass Pro, you have a problem here and you should probably fix it!!! Sorry but I won't be back to find out if you did...
Read more6/18/23 Honestly just drive to Cabelas in Laney.
I tried to buy a firearm with my pcs orders, as I'm active duty military. They told me they couldn't accept them and that I had to get my original orders. I proceeded to tell them these are my official orders as everything in the navy (or just my boat idk) is done over email. The only time I've ever gotten blue ink orders was boot camp, 5 years ago. I also told them copies of orders are still official. They didn't know how to read my navy orders, and tried to deny me after that. I explained my orders to the manager working then he denied me because of my drivers license being expired. I was told "this won't work" "these orders won't work" I left after that because these people obviously didn't want to serve me because I don't even need a state ID to purchase a bolt action rifle. My Military ID works just fine for the purchase.
I called Cabelas and spoke to a lady on the phone to see what all I needed to purchase a bolt action rifle. She told me My military ID and my PCS orders. I then drove the 30 minutes there to see their selection (which is obviously better than bass pro). When I was checking out at Cabelas, the cashier was confused about my orders. He called over a higher-up, who then quickly and thoroughly explained them. I was super pleased at this, instead of getting told my military orders are fake.
I would suggest Bass Pro in Tacoma, take the time to educate their employees on Military purchasing firearms and the laws regarding it. I feel like they just couldn't understand my orders so they were scared of the sale. This is frustrating as I've served for 5 years and have always been an avid supporter of bass pro. They even have military parking! Please get educated, not every branch of military is the same and Navy orders are harder to understand than Army orders but your education shouldn't be the reason to turn me away when I'm in my rights and have the legal documentation.
Wont be purchasing firearms from this store again till their employees are educated. Thank...
Read moreIf I could I’d give infinite zeros, Everyone at the gun counters were talking and having out not helping people with the exception of one guy, only person that seemed apologetic in the whole experience was a supervisor at the gun counter. The worst experience, the stores GSM Jon with a ponytail, was the absolute rudest GSM that I have encountered in my life, he had the audacity to tell me you need to be happy with what I’m doing for you, seriously 😐 thanks for the slap in the face, also I purchased firearm in one of their stores on August 21st, 2023, filled all of the paperwork out on august 31st, 2023 after earlier encounter that I wanted a refund on the gun and said I no longer wished to purchase anything else at any of the bass shop pro or cabellas stores and wanted cash back instead of their store gift card , I was told the only way to do it is to write it up that I failed their background check, which would disqualify me from EVER purchasing one, and have it be placed on their record. I didn’t do anything wrong and I will be the guilty party, I said no to that, and the end I felt absolutely intimidated and coerced into re-purchasing the gun, but I did farther more research on this, when I called in post 2 weeks and seeing if it’s ready for pick up I was told it takes 20 days in addition It’s 10 days not a month! Just and fyi here is the copy or an RCW code per WA state ⬇️ In 2019, Washington conditionally repealed 6 section 9.41.090(1)(a) that allowed individuals with concealed carry permits to take possession of handguns in spite of the ten-day period to complete a background check as specified above. Dealers in Washington are still required, under federal law, to wait a minimum of three days before transferring a firearm to a purchaser if a background check has...
