Update: For management, please address both lines as separate to customers, we came in last weekend and after waiting to sit for 15 mins we got sat down and then we’re made to get up right after because another customer that was in the to go only line decided they wanted to dine in and wanted our table. It’s unfair for someone to have been in the to go only line to be able to take our table. They should have been placed in line behind us in the dine in line.
I have recently been frequenting Tho Tuong almost every other weekend in Tacoma, and I have to say, it is amazing. It’s small but don’t let that fool you. It’s just the right atmosphere and size for a relaxed meal.
My first order that I tried with them was the combination noodle soup and wow—it was the best I’ve ever had. The broth was so rich and flavorful, with just the right balance of spices, and the meat was incredibly tender. You can choose a combination of roasted duck, roasted pork, and bbq pork to your choosing. Everything tasted fresh and authentic. This is one of those hidden gems in my opinion. It’s hard to find places like this.
The service was another highlight. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without rushing us. The owners are constantly busy catering to everyone but extremely nice and welcoming. Seems they are family owned and you can feel the love in the cooking and service. You could tell they genuinely care about their customers and food. I couldn’t recommend Tho Tuong enough. Great food, great service, and a...

So I went and visited today, as I was going there, there were also others going there and it was full so we had to wait.
A group behind me was seated first before me and that kind of annoyed me but I just thought of the possibly delicious food and maybe this was a test of my patience. So I waited patiently and resisted the urge to leave.
Thank God I stayed, eventually senpai noticed me and I had a place to sit. The waitress was nice and welcoming. She gave me some piping hot jasmine tea and gave me some time to think about what I wanted.
I wanted to try all the meats they had so I ordered the meat combo noodle soup. The dish looked very appetizing with pork slices and duck portions with noodle and vegetables.
The broth was perfect tasting as the flavorful fats from the meat added to its allure.
The egg noodle was great just like how I like from another restaurant I frequented.
The roast pork still had a crunchy skin and nice flavor. The duck had even more flavor and went well with the noodle soup.
The combination of meats, noodles, broth and vegetables made this dish spectacular.
I ordered some roast pork to go but they sold out and my order couldn’t be completed.🥹
Overall, this is my new favorite noodle soup spot in the west coast. Sangkee is my favorite in the east coast.
I highly recommend this place for replenishing your calories with a nutritiously...
Read moreFor an amateur foodie like me, discovering a culinary gem feels like striking gold, and this restaurant in Tacoma with the best roast duck is exactly that. While I could name it, I’d rather let the delicious whispers guide you there—because trust me, this spot is well worth the wait.
The line outside speaks volumes, but the moment you step inside, the intoxicating aroma of perfectly roasted duck tells you that patience pays off. The duck arrives glistening with a mahogany-hued, crackling skin that promises the perfect bite. The first taste is revelatory: the skin shatters delicately, giving way to succulent, tender meat that is both rich and flavorful, with a depth that only comes from careful seasoning and hours of roasting mastery.
Each plate arrives accompanied by thinly sliced scallions, crisp cucumber, and pillowy steamed buns, ready to build the ultimate bite. A tangy-sweet hoisin sauce ties it all together, but honestly, the duck could hold its own without any accompaniments. What sets this roast duck apart is its balance—the richness never overwhelms, and the natural flavors of the duck shine through.
Despite the long wait times, the service remains warm and attentive, a testament to how much pride this restaurant takes in delivering an extraordinary experience. The ambiance leans cozy, with an unpretentious charm that lets the food do all the talking.
For anyone who treasures food that feels like an event, this roast duck in Tacoma...
