I wanted to love this place. It’s so cozy and the neighborhood vibes are fantastic for people watching and casual lunch. We sat outside to enjoy the nice day Service was chaotic and disorganized … staff didn’t know their own menu, was confused as to who was serving our table at all, didn’t seem to understand timing and generally were not around. Ordered an Italian sub and a salad to split, they offered to split it for us which was nice. Food arrived looking lackluster at best. An Italian with with veggies too big to fit in your mouth, no oil and vinegar (which we asked extra of) and a giant stem of pepper, it was tiny, badly cut and not at all an Italian sub. We asked before we ordered if the coleslaw was vinegar or mayo based and was told vinegar. It was mayo… a heavy handed dose of mayo. We asked extra sides and had to wait a very long time for them and the oil and vinegar she brought out the salad dressing not sub style. Confusing? Had to asked for the bill at the counter and then my friend ended up getting up herself to get it anyway. It’s a bummer, super disappointing for a local place.

Was a very quaint, decorative little Cafe. Went there with my Mother. The wait staff was very friendly and would come to check on us. I ordered an appetizer of Spinach artichoke dip which came put hot! Was small but fresh. Then I ordered a garden salad and my mother got one of the entree salads with bacon. They were generous portions. For my entree I got a chicken pot pie which came out hot and fresh! It was good size and crisp out of the oven. The wait was a little long but if you are ordering from a smaller Cafe where they cook instead of just microwaving it is going to take longer. It was worth the wait! The only reason I am giving 4 not five is because there was a mixup with the order but they were able to quickly resolve it and get the correct food out. There were multiple staff helping out to check on you and make sure things were right! Highly recommend!

Not sure what the point of a sign that says “please wait to be seated,” when after they made us wait while they finished their conversation they said “have a seat anywhere.” There were 3 tables filled with one leaving as we sat, another left within a couple minutes, and we were the only table. People would come in and Kami would holler across the room where it’s already echoing and noise. We waited an additional 10” waiting for our menus…and did t get our food for a full 35” after we sat. I realize costs are increasing everywhere, but this salad was $15. Really disappointed as I’ve been here before and enjoyed my food and service. This time, Kami, the server, was too busy visiting with another employee who was counting money than to take our order when we were the o my I es in the restaurant.

My husband and I visited here on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch from out of town. It was pretty busy when we arrived and took a while for someone to greet and seat us at the only table left. Once we sat down there wasn’t really any introduction of the waiter or communication . We waited after looking at the menu and there was seemingly no one in sight coming to take our order. It seemed like there were a lot of people working in the back/ behind the counter. We finally asked if we were supposed to order at the counter since no one really communicated with us for about 10-15 min. Eventually someone came to take our order which included a drink. We probably waited another 30 min and my drink hadn’t come yet and no one had checked in. I finally got my drink maybe 10- 15 min before our food came. It probably took us just under an hour from when we ordered to get our food. The staff was just nice enough but lacked good communication or warmth. Our waiter kept cracking sarcastic jokes with out reading the situation. We asked about the Mac and cheese and he replied “it’s okay” we looked at him confused and he was like “it’s the best thing ever!” and when asking for a to go box he responded “you have to finish it here our we charge double”. I don’t mind some one being cheeky or funny, it just didn’t sit well with the lack of awareness of the poor service. It was just a strange and lack luster experience. I totally understand people might be overwhelmed or slammed when it’s super busy, it just communicate with your guests about it. Once we got our food- that was good- we literally scarfed it down in like 10 min and then were out! We won’t be...

I believe the restaurant changed ownership semi-recently, and current management definitely prioritizes profit over quality. This used to be my favorite lunch & dinner spot in Tacoma because the food was high quality and well-priced. Neither of those are true anymore.

Their sandwiches are made on cheap, mushy, flavorless bread. They've replaced the garlic bread that used to accompany the entrees with a cheap dinner roll that has the exact same taste & texture as the awful rolls that my high school served with school lunches. The mac & cheese tastes completely unseasoned. Their menu describes the chips served with their sandwiches as "house made", but on a recent visit, my sandwich was accompanied by a bag of Lay's. Subbing out the chips for a small salad is an extra $4 (which, in all fairness, has been true for a while—but it really stings when the sandwiches are now $17.) I tried to get the house special pasta recently, and not only was the pasta horribly overcooked and mushy, the sauce tasted like canned tomato soup.

The atmosphere is still very nice and I know the waitstaff are trying their hardest. I want to still like this place. Unfortunately, I just really cannot justify paying $35 for a mediocre sandwich with an okay side...

I really wanted to like this place. Menu sounds good, just a little pricey. Got the peasant plate and it was really good! Just wish they stated what the cheeses were and gave WAY more fruit. 4 slices of apple, 4 pear, and 6 grapes cut in half with a small baguette and 3 wedges of cheese for 14.50. Really good though.

Then my pear and cranberry salad came..not sure if its there normal stuff but it looked like someone went to trader joe, bought a mixed salad, cut carrot, and feta to put this together. Veggies tasted terrible and clearly not freshly cut or prepared. Dressing was also really weird and off. Supposed to be basalmic and it tasted like olive oil colored brown so I didn't touch it.

Husband got the pot pie and he said he really enjoyed it, but the chicken was off. Ironically again, tasted like someone went to trader joe and bought precooked chicken. The dish was also not very deep so it was a light pot pie for the price, but he liked the seasoning.

The place was VERY loud (due to customers not staff) and really stuffy. I wish they kept the door open because it was getting uncomfortably warm and a good 15-20 degrees warmer than outside. Staff was friendly enough and...
