Top Pot Doughnuts — Restaurant in Tacoma

Seems I’d have to be gay to be accepted to be treated with respect here. I was just there at like 10:15am today. There was a couple looking at donuts with a pretty large gap between them and the person ordering. I walked up behind the person ordering and stood there in line waiting to be helped. The person at the counter helped the person behind me and so I took the hint and walked to the back which at that point had formed a a slightly larger line. She had brought up that she was sorry she totally skipped over me which if you knew you skipped over me then make it right. Anyways. I asked if they do a military or first responder discount and she had said yes. My bank statement says $7.87 for two donuts and you can’t proceed to payment unless you pick a tip percentage. Utterly disappointed by Top Pot's choice to locate in Proctor Station - a controversial development that has left the surrounding neighborhood very upset with its monolithic structure and unconcern for impact on our quality of life. Considering Top Pot's gorgeous resurrections of different buildings in Seattle and that some of the founders are from Lakewood - why would they choose the McCorporate location in Tacoma? You did us wrong, TP. I was waiting for you to rejuvenate a building on Hilltop or something.

The donuts here are pretty good - but they are quite pricey. The Ovaltine Latte is awesome. BUT - Tacoma is a city of Donut Destiny with amazing places like House of Donuts, Legendary, Le Donut, Dockside and - my favourite of all time - Pao's on 6th. TP needed to step up their game here, but decided to put in their B-Team instead. We're worth more...

Went in with my cousin and sister, we ordered two donuts and two drinks (one matcha and one chai). The young lady there got our donuts ready for us but didn't even bother to give it to us she left it there and walked away so we had to reach over the counter. Also, when ordering our drinks i don't know if she is hard of hearing but we confirmed that we were ordering only one matcha and one chai several times. we noticed she charged us for three drinks which we did receive but we did not order three and even confirmed it was only two. the matcha was good but the chai was HORRIBLE. it tastes like pure ginger or turmeric. it was so bad and spicy. would not...
