Read moreFirst time here. Service and appearance gives a dirty feel and lacking. Walked in and a shout out to seat yourself. Some tables had been cleared but dirty with food crumb. Don’t know what’s on table tops but it gives a dirty appearance and feel. The waitress put silverware that’s rolled up in napkin first then wiped down the table with rag that looked dirty. Got food and drinks. Rolls are cold. Fried squash is not to my liking due to coated with cornmeal that gives grainy taste. I would have liked butter with my rolls. No refill on drinks. I would have liked an extra napkin for use so my silverware could have stayed on napkin and not placed on table. The waitress never came back to see if we needed anything else. If you want dessert you need to order with meal, I guess for waitress don’t come back. I didn’t eat all on my plate and needed a to go tray. Finally spotted one and got my own. The food could have been hotter but the meatloaf & green beans had a good taste. Weary if I go back. 40 minutes from house but places to eat with country food is almost extinct. UPDATE—— new table tops, waitress was attentive (not the one on first visit) the food was good and hot. Breakfast - love the brown gravy & Biscuit with tenderloin — lunch - check the daily menu - so good. I would rate FIVE STARS now. To go orders is easy and they put in bad every thing you need. Parking is crowded and tight - slow, easy & patience...

I think they should only have a crunch when it a very fresh vegetable. Meats on the other hand should not be cooked so long that it is crunchy on the in side. Only the crust on the outside should crunch when you bite into the fried chicken breast. Not good at all. All around the meal was a learning experience. You sometime have to try some place to know if you can go back for a future meal and expect good food. This place is not that type place, you know now before you go that someone else didn't like what they got. By the way, the manager wasn't interested in anything that you found that needs improvement. Only wants compliments. Won't have to worry about...
