Sitting in my car at a different Bruegger's Bagels location.. I'm not even going to wait til I get home to post this. In fact, I have never posted a review before this.. that's how disappointing my experience was today. So I called in to make an order to be picked up.. some rude guy informed me my order was too small to take over the phone.. then told me to have a wonderful day.. as if he were saying 'go ---- yourself'. So I come in with a smile.. the short-haired blonde woman the reviewer before me referred to.. sounds like the same woman. I agree.. she has no business dealing with customers directly. Listen.. maybe she was having a bad day.. but if you're going to work that day.. don't take it out on the customer. I didn't trust that she handled my order with care.. I tossed it in the trash and went to another location. Just didn't trust her. That might sound nuts.. but that's the feeling I got when I was there. Like she was offended I had the nerve to come in and order something. I have always trusted this location. Always had a decent experience. After today.. I will N.E.V.E.R. return to this location Never ever.. and I will tell 1 million of my closest friends why I choose to go out of my way to go to another location. Sad.. because you make great bagels. But there are too many other options to risk employing people who are hurting...
Read moreBottom line: Bruegger's on N. Monroe survived the chopping block. The one in the TJ Maxx plaza was replaced by a Chipotle (see my reviews of Chipotle in TLH to learn how I REALLY feel), and the one at the intersection of High Road and Tharpe got the axe as well. The only other local survivor (I believe) is by Academy Sports on Mahan.
Timothy is the manager here - and he's on top of his game. He's personable himself and hires well to boot.
The bagels are quite good. I'm neither from New York nor Montreal (little known fact - Montreal is the OTHER North American co-epicenter of Bagelhood) so I can't attest to the veracity of the bagels - all I know is that I like 'em.
What is consistently not good, in my opinion, are the espresso concoctions. If this were a local joint, I would simply tell Timothy personally - but this is a chain, and I suspect they are all simply following corporate guidelines.
To me, Hershey's chocolate syrup NEVER is an option for a mocha. It just doesn't taste right.
I'm a quad-16 oz. mocha guy. I can consistently expect it to be not good here.
So - the bottom line is - come here for the bagels - and everything else, 'cept for an espresso concoction. (it's not just the mochas. my quad latte this morning was...
Read moreThis happened 3 days ago. Bruegger's reached out for my email to further discuss this and have not followed through. Shame on you .
I just had the some of the worst customer service ever at Bruegger's Bagels on Mahan. After waiting too long and watching my server leave my food and come back several times and finally disappear long enough for me to ask about it, he denied choosing to have a personal conversation with a fellow employee while holding my finally completed order instead of giving it to me. Then he chose to insult me by asking, "Are you so hungry you can't wait for your food?". Another employee, I think he may have even been a manager, backed up the employee instead of the me, the customer. I have 30 years of customer service experience. This is NOT how you do it. I'm a business owner and resident of Tallahassee. I will do my part to leave this review on ever social media page I can find. I have never been moved to do something like this until today. Bruegger's, you can do better. Anna...
