We understand the hotel Is under renovation due to the tornado, fans all over the floor were not a big deal at all, even we should be contacted in advance and let us know about the situation, given us the opportunity to decide what to do, but no, it was notified at the time of checking, “go check the fan noise down stairs, if you consider we can cancel your reservation and you can go and look for another hotel…sure, on a Memorial Day weekend ! hot breakfast was good, BUT!!! cockroach walking on the floor on the breakfast room, do not want to imagine how the kitchen looks! service personnel were so friendly. we didn't have the time to enjoy de pool, cannot says anything about it. The room, it was good, so glad there was not carpet, but the floor wasn't cleaned, you can tell because of my feet, OMG, they were black! There was an sticky spot next to the tv stand, like a soda or something was spilled and never got cleaned, I have to wash my feet before go to bed, that give a huge doubt about the cleanliness. TV, I do not care to much about the TV, but my mom doesn't speak any English, it wasn't any Spanish channel, no big deal. Clothes iron doesn't work! Room lights not good, 2 next to the beds, you cannot turn them to anywhere, and one next to the tv, doesn't give to much light if needed. There is a mirror next to the entrance, perfect to look your self and see if you look good or not, but guess what? There is so dark and there is no lights! Oh! But you have a light interrupter next to the door, but don't turn any light . A safe box will be a great addition. I think for the money we pay, should deserve a little better, even with the renovations, that, as mentioned doesn't bother at all. It will be a nice to ask the guests if they want the room to be cleaned, even if they stay just for one or 2 nights...with just 1 trash can in the entire room, located at the bathroom, you will need a cleaning person at least to take the trash out and check if something else is needed. Wake up in the morning to find a no nice visitor...a cockroach on the bathroom , first time that happen to me in a Hotel room! Free Wifi! We weren't provided with passwords or anything to access the wifi, and because of the non working phone we decided to use our own devices to be able to get a wifi on our laptop. Next door guests, feeling them like they were sitting on my bed, 1am and we cannot sleep, try to call to reception, but the phone doesn't work I guess the phone is just there as a decoration, but if you have an emergency just run to the front desk or use your cellphone...we wait for them to be able to sleep, but what a surprise, they wakeup around 5am! Wanna cry!!!!! At the end, we decide to pack, without taking breakfast or anything else and leave as fast as we can! To be honest, we pay too much for what we receive $229.08 for 2 nights, just one relaxing night, probably because we were tired after 9 road driving trip! So sad to have to give just 1 stars because of the poor...
Read moreWe are traveling for a football camp at Florida State for our son tomorrow. This afternoon when we arrived as soon as we walked in the door I knew it was not going to be a good experience. There was a line of about 6 guest all with complaints and they had just checked in as well. Elevator was broke leaving us to carry all of our luggage up 3 flights of stairs to the 3rd floor. Checkin was has an issue with the machine that programs the room keys so we stood waiting on that issue to be resolved. Booked a queen double room and upon entering I turned down the bed to find what looked to be bodily fluid stains on the sheets and several hairs. I took pictures and went back out in the hall where I had seen a couple of housekeeping girls as we went to the room. I showed her the pictures I had taken and two girls came to the room with me to look like I was making it up. Upon their inspection she changed the bed. As stated we are traveling as a family of 3 and only 2 towels in the bathroom. Asked for some more towels and low in behold guess what more hair on the towels!!!! The door to our room scans but something is wrong with the lock apparently because it doesn’t unlock all the way so the door get jammed and doesn’t open until you do it like 5 times in a row. The hallway carpets are stained and just overall nasty. It smells musty throughout the hotel. The phone in the room does not work to call the front desk or housekeeping so you have to run up and down the 3 flights of stairs and stand in line amongst the other disgruntled guest to get anyone’s help. Last but not least when housekeeping changed the bed she didn’t have the right blanket so literally it’s sheets and that’s it on the bed. I asked front desk for an extra blanket and was told housekeeping didn’t leave them any. At this rate I’ve spent money on Clorox wipes to reclean the bathroom, air freshener to spray in the room to try make it doable, for tonight so that we did not have to carry all the luggage and reload this evening. An made a trip to Walmart to purchase a blanket to have something on the bed to sleep with. At this rate I have spent more trying to make the room acceptable for the night then they charged my for my stay. Highly disappointed and just down right irritated that this seems to be the standard here after speaking with housekeeping and a few other staff members. I have never in my life had a worse experience at a hotel and we travel all...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE! If I could give this hotel 0 stars, I would. My recent stay at Wyndham Garden Tallahassee Capitol was a complete disappointment from start to finish. The overall cleanliness of this establishment is abysmal, extending from the rooms to the hallways and even the main entrance. It's evident that daily cleanings are not a priority here, as the conditions were consistently unsanitary throughout our stay.
Upon entering our room, my allergies were immediately triggered by a foul smell and visible dust and filth. To ensure the safety of our young children, we attempted to move the bed against the wall, only to discover trash and a spill underneath, clearly untouched from previous guests. We promptly reported this to Assistant General Manager Mr. Gissendaner at 11am, who assured us it would be addressed. However, upon our return at 6:45pm, the room remained in the same deplorable state.
In an attempt to rectify the situation, we were offered another room, but to our dismay, it was equally neglected. The lack of basic cleaning standards was shocking; moving the furniture revealed the same disregard for cleanliness. This is unacceptable in any accommodation, let alone a purportedly reputable hotel.
Furthermore, the absence of hand sanitizer in the main lobby highlights the hotel's disregard for basic hygiene practices, especially concerning given current health concerns. Additionally, we were informed by housekeeping staff of shortages in towels and linens, which were themselves in poor condition with visible holes. It was unsettling to learn that rooms were reportedly cleaned with the same dirty mop, a practice that compromises even the most basic standards of cleanliness.
Even the hallways showed signs of neglect, with dust clearly visible in the popcorn ceiling, indicating a lack of thorough cleaning protocols. This level of negligence is simply unacceptable in the hospitality industry.
In conclusion, I regret choosing to stay at Wyndham GardenTallahassee Capitol Hotel and will not be returning. In fact, I have decided to cut my stay short by one day due to the unacceptable conditions. It is my sincere belief that this hotel should be thoroughly reviewed and possibly shut down until significant improvements are made to ensure the safety and comfort of its guests.
