Donut Kingdom — Restaurant in Tallahassee

I don't normally write reviews but this one is warranted. Theres two things to be said here, these are the best donuts in town! The donuts are fresh and well decorated and superb, the atmosphere is light and happy and calm all at the same time. This will be my go to donut shop from now on and all my family and friends. The second thing is the worker all are delightful and amazing! One in specific stood out, the tall asian young man. I went to get donuts in the morning and I was having a rough day already and the young man notices and asks how my day was and shed some very good advice for his age, got this old man scratching his head and wondering. Happy with the donuts he made specially for me and the advice and encouragement. Later the same day I brought my grandson because he loved the donuts earlier I brought home and to my surprise the young man is still there working, he made some fresh donuts for us with a smile and sent us on our way feeling extra special. While walking out I see this young man back to his note book writing and I can only assume homework, got me thinking this is one of the most earnest and hardest working young man iv seen in a long time! The sign on the door said “Free Donuts” PLURAL and gave the date June 6, 2025. No instructions on the premises said anything about making a purchase. The girl at the counter told us we had to buy a donut in order to get a donut free. She didn’t tell us that each person needed separate orders to get a free donuts until we purchased them, and then she told us that she couldn’t redo the order for us. She also spent over 5 minutes messing with the computer sign over her head, before she would even take our order. We appreciate that you are occasionally willing to give away free donuts, but when you make the process complicated and convoluted, then you come across as stingy, because it seems like you really don’t want to participate. The donuts were tasty, but I contribute that to the guy working in the back, who came up to help the girl with the computer sign, since it seemed like the sign was all she cared about. That is why I think the business doesn’t care about their customers. We went to get a buy one donut get one free for National donut day, and they charged us for 5 donuts and only gave us one free donut, because the 4 of us didn’t do separate orders. UPDATED REVIEW (Jan. 2022) Recently the customer service has been a lot better, especially Mia. She is such a kind soul that really just wants to make things right for the customer. I always appreciate coming in if Mia is there as I know I can count on great service if she is! Not only this, but the manager has been accommodating to me when inquiring about specifics. I also did not think the donuts could get better, but they DID. The vegan glazed donuts are now much softer, akin to a traditional glazed donut, but still have that satisfying glaze crunch like before. This place still is at the top of my list for vegan donuts, and they raised the bar even higher.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: While I don't have much to say about the customer service as it is very average, I can say that for a local place, I really enjoy the level of consistency I get with the quality of the donuts. Especially the vegan ones. This place has the best vegan glazed donut I've ever had. As for the other vegan donuts, they're okay, but too sweet (in a hyper-artificial way).
