I hate to share this story but it is my hope that no other bride goes through what I went through.
On the day of my wedding, tasty pastry delivered my wedding cake (for a fee) and I came to my venue seeing the cake pictured below. It was crunching and falling over.
I called tasty pastry and they told me that I should simply “turn” the cake and that it was my fault that the cake was not placed in the fridge.
I told them I would not be turning my cake as I was worried it would fall further and that I needed a solution. After hours on the cellphone, they reluctantly came out and put some flowers on my cake as it continued to fall for the rest of the night with promise of refund. It never stood straight and could not be photographed. Please note this was moments after it was delivered.
After my honeymoon I ask about the refund and I was told they had no record of my purchase. Then, they told me they were only going to refund me $150 of the $500 I spent on my wedding cake because they came all the way out to fix it.
On the same call I was told that delivering to my venue has always been an issue due to the speed bumps (it turns out it WAS falling after all!)
On the day of my wedding, I had several rude employees explain to me the anatomy of a cake and how it was not falling and it was simply my imagination. I was told I was going to have a refund and only received a partial one.
This business cannot make a reliable product, deliver it (for a fee), or keep their promises to their customers. It is my sincerest hope that no other bride goes through the hours of stress, watching my expensive cake sink, while a rude woman tells me it’s not falling and to turn it.
Next cake will be Publix for me — at least they stand behind their product and their service — a lesson tasty pastry...
Read moreDisappointed. I ordered two cheesecakes in advance for a work function. Two issues with the orders, one issue with the store, and one issue with the staff. First issue with order: over the phone I was told the cheesecakes were 7" so I ordered two. They are more like 9-10" and I could have done with one. That's fine, more cheesecake isn't the worst problem to have. Main issue with order, I specifically asked for toppings on the side. We discussed this at length in that phone Convo bc the person I was ordering for likes plain cheesecake so I asked for toppings on the side. Very specific about this. Get to the store to pick up, toppings on the cheesecake. No plain cheesecakes available. Ididn't have another option for the work function that day so I checked with my boss and and got the wrongly prepared order anyway. Very embarrassing! Issue with the store: not clean. Gloves and crumbs on the floor, crumbs in the front corners of the cases, smears on the glass fronts of the cases, stuff piled everywhere. Not a pleasant first impression. Issue with the staff: they were not very concerned about the wrong order, they just kind of smiled and said a halfhearted sorry. I'm not looking for hysterics or anything but dang, act like you care a little bit. They did end up charging me only for plain cheesecakes, not the topping so that's something I guess. I won't be going back to this place. If you are going to order for a function in advance I think you'd need to double and triple check your order to be safe, but the cleanliness/clutter issue is really the...
Read moreWhat an utterly disappointing customer service experience for the second time in recent past. I have been a customer here since I moved here in 1989. But never again will I be treated the way I was today ( and again recently) when I am just trying to put money in your pocket by buying cake after cake over the years! The worst part is, I brought the first situation to the owners attention and they were wonderful, admitted they were having ongoing employee issues and assured me it was being addressed. Fast forward to today and all I wanted was an Italian creme cake without the coconut. Mind you I just picked up a birthday cake from them 4 days ago and use them regularly! But today Bailey rudely informed me they can't do that!! When I asked if she was sure since it made zero sense she claimed she confirmed and again NO!! Why can't you just leave the coconut out? Further more it was the way she said it and when I decided to ask to leave a message for the owner or manager she smirked at me and said "EXCUSE ME"! She needs serious customer service training and she's not the only one there. I go in there often and it's always as if we the customers are "putting them out" by spending money there. We are NEVER treated as valued customers who help you keep your doors open!! That's it for me....I will...
