First off, the place is nice and cozy. The owners are nice and respectful. I appreciated that it was a Christian atmosphere for the most part. I went there for breakfast round 10-1030am and quiet time to get work done and spend time with the Lord. I even said to myself "FINALLY! A place I could come to and get some breakfast and some nice quiet time that is Christian". I am ALWAYS supportive of Christian owned businesses and will always advocate for them. However, when I came in, the husband took my order and seemed annoyed that I asked him to put more milk in my coffee (I had asked twice). He said, nice of course but still a bit annoyed to me, "Next time, you should tell me you want a lot of milk. I also put the vanilla". I am very specific with how I like my coffee and I am known to make my requests CLEAR. I did tell him that I wanted my coffee to be VERY milky but the coffee was still too strong for my taste. He proceeded to say "most people like it strong". Which I do understand, but I, however, DO NOT like my coffee strong. I even felt the need to say, "Sorry for the inconvenience. I just like a lot of milk in my coffee." I brushed it off and though nothing of it and thanked him for adding more milk. I still was dissatisfied with my coffee and did not finish it but I did not want to bother him again so I left it alone. Then, a few people came in and ordered some food and the husband was greeting them, making them feel welcomed, and making conversation but he did not do that with me. He actually assumed that I was going to leave but was surprised when he found that I actually stayed. He did not ONCE assume that with anyone else that entered the restaurant. Once again, I did not think much of it and brushed that off too. My final straw was when it came time for lunch. He asked me if I was going to order lunch and I said no. He then said "We are going to need this table if you are not staying. It is now lunch time and we need our tables cleared for other guests." Okay... So this would be VERY understandable IF and ONLY IF there were A LOT of people there and STAYING. That was NOT the case. There was barely anyone in the place! There was about 10 tables total and only 3 of them were occupied (me being 1 of them). The other people that came in to order LEFT! Again, if the place was PACKED and people were WAITING for tables, then OF COURSE I WOULD NOT MIND LEAVING! I am not inconsiderate or rude. But when he asked me, AND ONLY ME, to leave, I was hurt and felt discriminated against! I purposely left out that I am a BLACK HISPANIC WOMAN! I am a BELIEVER in Jesus Christ and this really put a sour taste in my mouth. I respectfully said, "no problem", and left as FAST as I could. I was EXTREMELY hurt by this. This was the first time I EVER encountered this and I will NOT be coming back. The food and coffee is okay. The atmosphere is nice, but I will not be recommending anyone here....
Read moreAn absolute gem of a place, not only for the wonderful owners (identify you to find more friendly people), but for some incredibly tasty and diverse food choices. One example that is very obvious is the empanadas. I think there were at least 20 varieties and in our group of five we tried 10 of them and there was not a loser in the bunch. My daughter got the American Breakfast, I had the Philadelphia and Sweet Corn. We also tried the Argentine and some others and we loved them all, both in the café and later heated up. My hubby got the salmon on toast and it was huge and delicious. Someone else got a regular scrambled eggs and toast breakfast and said it was perfect. My father got the quiche and said it was outstanding, but I want to talk to you about soup.
I love soup, no matter the weather and I’m constantly frustrated at the lack of variety available, not to mention the quality when it is available. There were 12 different types of soup. TWELVE! There were four that looked great to me and Ozzi (the owner) suggested the chorizo with chickpeas and lentils and it was so delicious. The coffees and teas were great, and of course we had to try two pieces of the cake which were delicious.
Lastly, I was so touched when they brought out an alfajor for my husband who was celebrating his birthday and who grew up in Argentina, it was such a lovely gesture. It is such a blessing to see a couple who love the Lord and want to honor him with everything they do thrive in this way. I wish we lived close by so we could go all the time, but we will definitely be returning the next time we visit family...
Read moreThe food is as incredible as the genuine people who own and operate this cafe. My life partner, companion, fiancé, emergency contact and soon to be wife went to Fort Lauderdale for a few days to see a comedy show. I came across this place via Google search. I ran out while the “Queen of my Heart” slept to bring her back an iced vanilla latte (her fav). I immediately made a rare life long connection with the owner Ozzy. He is a rare soul. On top of all that, they use ice cubes made from coffee as to, “not water down the drinks” Ozzy said. SERIOUSLY! This review could end now but I am not done yet. The “ic” and I are prosciutto lovers. First time I brought back a prosciutto/provolone sandwich with the coffees. We loved both so much we came back together a day later to repeat the order and introduce my beloved “Eastern European Snow Princess” to Ozzy. That day I ordered a prosciutto/Brie sandwich and it was incredible. If I lived there this place would be enjoyed by us multiple times a week. Go! Now! Stop what you are doing and...
