I was moved into three different rooms. The first two the sheets were stained and all the pillow cases were dirty. The second room even had an aluminum rod underneath the pillow. I was appalled because I had never had this experience. I was very upset since I had driven three and a half hours for a reunion trip with my sister and mother that were driving for 7 hours from Georgia. Then I went to the front desk where I was told they’d change my rate to a whopping $60 less and to a suite. I was then told to go to the suite. I went to the suite and there were lipstick stains on the pillow sheets and then the housekeeping manager came in and told me they weren’t suppose to send me up yet that she was changing all the sheets on the pillows that had stains. I mean why is this even happening? Isn’t that protocol shouldn’t they always been cleaned? She then asked me if I would like for all the sheets to be changed and I said yes, of course. I didn’t leave the hotel because I was so tired and my mother and sister were 10 mins away and because they had been driving for so long I didn’t want to inconvenience them. We were only staying one night anyways. Yes we were changed and the staff was very attentive in that manner but the cleanliness was not up to par and that should have been a priority. The downstairs cafe/dining room seemed to never be open. We went down the next day for check out and there was no one there which prompted us to just finally check out and leave. Read moreWhen we had arrived on previous visits we were greeted as Platinum members and given a token gift of water bottles. This last visit we were not acknowledged as Platinum members and when I pointed it out it just seemed to annoy the clerk. She said in a terse tone we don't qualify for any free waters and gave us our room cards. Went up to the room and it was a standard not the expected upgrade we earned. When I returned to ask why that was I was told upgrades were not available because they didn't get the rooms cleaned. Now we all have been dealing with Covid this and that for over a year now, I get it. The thing was I pointed out there was hardly anybody there so why not just one upgrade room, was everyone there a Platinum? I was then told none of the rooms were cleaned. Worst part of the service I felt was when I was at the counter asking for help to understand the low standards that night the manager just walked right in front of me and no mention at all of any intention to understand my issue or offer assistance. I did not know at first as he walked by but when I later asked for the manager I was told that was he who just left. Horrible, unprofessional service, no way to call it anything else. The reason for the low rating is because our room was never cleaned, even after advising the front and them taking down the information. We returned the following day to find our room still not clean. Bathroom towels were at least 2 feet high in bathroom, garbage over flowing, and no new linens.
As a Titanium member, you come to expect at least the basic services….we received none. Poor communication on Management’s part as to ensuring our room was cleaned after the first complaint, but after the second complaint…..no reason. Why am I calling down each day for items that should’ve been replaced during a daily room cleaning.
Front desk clerk understood my frustration and came and removed 2 bags of soiled towels, washcloths, bath mats, etc.
Although ideal for early morning/late arriving flights, would not recommend for any extended period of time.
Location was great with easy access to 275 for Clearwater, Anna Maria Island, St Petersburg, etc.
Will be filing a complaint with Marriot as we paid for services that were not provided during a 4 night stay.
