This place is like your typical bar restaurant. The food was half delicious and half disappointing. Our main problem was mainly the appetizers. The main courses were delicious.
The chicken plates our table ordered were delicious We ordered the chicken tenders and chicken + waffles. Perfectly crunchy chicken. Couldn't be better :)
The appetizers we ordered lacked the same love. The brick mozzarella sticks were supposed to be packed with cheese. When we broke them open half the cheese was gone. They were mostly hollow. It was disappointing since we heard so many good things about them. Our assumption was that the oil was so hot that it melted away some of the cheese they had been stuffed with.
The queso was the worst part. I'm a HUGE cheese eater. Anytime there's queso on the menu I mostly order it (unless I'm trying to save some money). The first time we got our queso it was in the incorrect bowl (the bowl is supposed to be shareable since it's $9) it was brought out in a mini white side dish. So right away we knew we only got about half the cheese for our order. We still gave it a try - but couldn't get far. The cheese wasn't warm (not even room temp) and extremely thick (which is usually no issue for me).
We sent it back and they remade it. The second attempt was only room temp and it was as if someone poured half of our cheese out of the bowl. At this point I was upset- first being cheated the actual amount suited for the appetizer and then getting less the second time.
When we returned it a third time, the manager came to our table. He first apologized and explained that they were going to make a fresh batch on-the-house. We waited patiently and gave it a try. The cheese was poured into the CORRECT shareable bowl and was warm. Not necessarily hot but good enough for me. The only issue was the chips tasted as though they were cooked with peanut oil which overpowered the cheese when dipped. Made everything taste like peanut butter. Was shocking but made it hard to eat the star of the app - the cheese. I used a fork to eat a little of the cheese which finally tasted good but it was very unsatisfying to have to eat it in such a way.
I appreciate the staff for attempting to correct the issues made. They were lovely. My only suggestion for those coming here is to skip the apps and go for the...
Read moreThis experience was a well-rounded one that left me feeling good in the end. I was meeting cannabis professionals here for a business dinner, and when I walked in found no host and was a little confused. After finding my table solo, we were greeted by the server who got drinks and menus and looked it all over. Our server was very direct initially, but warmed up over time. We had several moving parts to our party, and had food sent back at different times anticipating that it would all arrive separately. I was impressed that they still managed to get all 6 meals out at relatively the same time! I asked the server if the bartender would be willing to whip me up a fun mocktail, and after waiting for a bit, I wasn’t disappointed. This is by far the most effort a bartender has ever put into my mocktail! While I’m unsure of exactly what it is as I gave them creative freedom, it had mojito vibes to it and a strong presence of lime, ginger, and mint with perhaps like a peach purée? Very interesting and aside from the aged produce used, very good.
The chicken pot pie also impressed me, with the menu stating it was made fresh every day. I can always go for a good pot pie, so I opted to try that with the understanding I would likely not be able to finish it. The crust was only on top of the pot pie and was a very thin puff pastry with a sprinkling of crunchy cheese it seemed on top. When I broke the top shell to mix it together I noticed that either there was cheese inside the dish or the cheese had melted due to the heat of the pot pie. I felt that I got a good quantity for the money paid, the service was pretty good, and the food quality for the most part was excellent. Overall, I think I would eat here again although I’m unsure if I would order the same dish. Personally, I prefer a pot pie with a little bit more crust, however this is very good quality for the filling and that’s reason alone to...
Read moreDecided to watch the Lightning hockey game at Brick House. First off, if you are looking for a place to watch all the sports you want, this is it!!! They have TVs everywhere and a variety of seating options indoor and outdoor. The bar is really nice, being half indoors and half outdoors (with a roof over). To top off the great atmosphere, our server Kaitlyn was just phenomenal.
We chose where we wanted to be seated and started off with the pretzel appetizer. I am a huge sauce person, loving to try all and any different sauces. The photo of the pretzel shows the dips that come with it (queso, siracha ranch, and yellow mustard). Our server went above and beyond giving us a variety of the other sauces they have for other menu items. Our entrees came out in a timely manner and was exactly what we wanted. Being a picky eater myself, I ordered a salad and asked for a few additions which I received with no extra charge. The chicken sandwich was tender and juicy, and how can you go wrong with some bacon added?! Instead of the traditional sides, we chose the apple cider slaw for a little bit of health. Lastly we got a few Togo boxes for what we didn't finish and the server brought out little togo containers with all the different sauces.
Service and food was excellent! Definitely will be going back soon!
Had to go back and of course had to ask for Kaitlyn!! We watched the Lightning hockey game again and had a blast. Ordered some different items this time!
