For the $142.00 cost of dinner I expected a lot better quality and service. I made reservations online for 7:00 p.m. the night of my reservation I called to see about moving it up to 615. The lady on the phone advised me to follow and click the link on a confirmation text I received. I did that under no way to change or modify your reservation. I called back to advise and she said that she could not change my reservation because they were only told that way by clicking the link. I advised her that there is no way to change your reservation from clicking that link and she responded by asking me if I scroll to the bottom of the page. Yes I sure did I am not an imbecile. I then asked for the restaurant manager and she said she was the restaurant manager. Again she confirmed she didnt know how to change a reservation but just come in cause they are not busy. I guess she never heard of a pander pencil in the piece of paper to simply write a note down to make sure that a reservation is changed that's what they get for trying to be overly modern but not ready for it. Getting there there is no parking for the restaurant I would suggest try to park in the hotel parking for free rather than use the valet which you feel obligated to leave a tip. Getting seated was another mess we walked up to the restaurant said we had a reservation and said we would like to sit outside we were told it's open seating so go sit wherever you want. Next we walk outside and all the tables near the railing with the best view all had reserved signs on it. When you make your reservation it says you can't reserve certain seating it's 1st come 1st served so these reserved signs were pretty confusing. Asking one of the servers was a mistake because she described it as yes they are reserved you can have any table you want they can all be yours but they are all reserved. I may not be the brightest bulb but I tell you what hearing that come out of her mouth was pretty damn confusing. At this point we just sat down at a table. For being not very crowded at all and a Monday service food everything with very very slow. Currently the entire places under construction so the views that are being painted on their photo are also often obstructed and not so picturesque currently. At $14 for each drink I think they must get a commission because O my goodness did they push those drinks. We were asked if we wanted drinks 1st then water was brought then asked we wanted drinks again. Order drinks because I felt like it was kind of what we were supposed to do and then had to tell her we would like some appetisers. Next appetisers came out we had our drinks. Finish the appetisers and she comes over do anything else well yes we came here for dinner so we were like to put in our entree order. That's correct we put in drinks appetisers ate the appetisers before she even asked if we wanted something else. At the 30 minute mark of not getting our entrees to server comes over and says very nervous and very polite but basically says that the kitchen has messed up my food and that they were going to give us a round of drinks for free. Trying to be understandable we said OK and we got the same drinks that we got before. This is where it gets really sloppy. Both drinks that we got originally were good. The new drinks regard were very sloppy they were in either a different type of glass or they were missing ingredients. When the missing ingredients were brought up the bartender if you want to call her that may no attempt to professionally prepare the drink again rather than dumping a large amount of cinnamon directly in the center of the drink. All this showed me was her lack of class and what came out as frustration in my drink because she messed it up and had to fix it. I am putting photos of Before & After of all of these things so you can see for yourself. I won't say I will go back at least right now or anytime soon they are far away from being able to say they are worth a $140 for dinner for 2.Even when they tried to fix it with the drinks there bartender lac

We recently visited Sal Y Mar for my husbands birthday with a group of friends and had an absolutely wonderful experience, which moved me to write a review. My husband and I eat a very particular diet (by choice) and don’t typically go to non vegan restaurants because there just aren’t any options for us to enjoy. I reached out to the restaurant prior to our reservations and heard back from Armando who was a bigger help than I could’ve imagined! He truly went above and beyond to answer all of the questions pertaining to the menu that I had and even took it upon himself to further explain particular ingredients used in certain dishes on the menu. He described in detail how the food was prepared and even provided options just for us for the night we were there. He even greeted us at the door to confirm to us face-to-face that our food would not be cross contaminated that night! The vibe at Sal Y Mar was exactly what we were looking for on that night-open air, good music, and all around good vibes. But it truly was Armando taking it upon himself to create a personalized experience for us that will have us going back. We know we can be difficult when eating out and we do not expect any place to cater to us so we usually eat at home first and then just get some drinks when we go out. Armando made us return customers and we look forward to going back for other occasions in the future. I’ve eaten at restaurants across the world and have never had someone take such initiative to ensure our happiness. I can’t thank you enough Armando, truly!

The atmosphere is very nice inside and outside. We sat outside. The food was good. I'll start with my favorite item. I absolutely loved the fried "whole snapper" it's not really a whole amount of fish meat as they filet both sides of the snapper, fry the fish head that's attached to the fish bone. Then they take the fish meat, batter it and fry it in bite sized chunks. I love that the fish is seasoned and there's a crunchy batter in every bite of fish. And the presentation of the fish is cute, as they sit the bite sized chunks on the fried fish skeleton. I just don't think the chunks of fish is really the amount of a whole fish. We also ordered Chicken and steak tostones, braised chicken, and ribeye steak. The "half chicken" is a filet so it's not really a half chicken with the wing, breast, leg and thigh. I got half of a chicken back so I'm not sure how the portion is considered a half chicken. The tostones were good however, I wasn't a fan of the protein option I chose. I picked the chicken and beef protein options and they were both on the dry side. The Ribeye was a really good cut of steak. Very juicy but it was under seasoned for our liking. It should have been marinated or brined. The broccoli and yucca mash were super tasty. I will go back and I'll definitely order the snapper and sides again. If I ordered the tostones I'll try the shrimp or a different appetizer all together. I'd recommend you try this place out for yourself. The drinks were delicious. This kiss of death and the margarita were both favorites.

*$45 Birthday Cake Fee *Terrible Service *Closes at 3pm for Dinner *Terrible Management *2+ Hour wait for food

DO NOT COME HERE FOR BIRTHDAYS!!!!!!!

Planned my best friend birthday brunch at this venue. While the place was a beautiful vibe with a nice view, the service was trash. Our server Georgia was sweet and gave the best service as she could. However, we had a large party (14) I asked for 2 extra chairs as I miscalculated the RSVP's Julio told me (4 days before our reservation might I add) "I was doing the most" and needed a private room for that large of a party and he "did not want to go through that right now", cool. We get there and the hostess added chairs for us no problem. It took 30-40 minutes to get drinks INCLUDING SHOTS. The food took 2 hours to arrive at our table (we got there at 1, we ate at 3) then right after we ate we were given checks without notice or request and the server told us that they closed at 3pm to get ready for dinner (we were unaware that they closed for dinner) many people at our table did not enjoy the subpar food (the waffles were like cement) and many people at our table never received drinks. It was not busy, it was not full and there were at least 5 bar tenders (dropping things all over the place and breaking glass everywhere). We decided to cut the cake but were told THERE WAS $45 CAKE FEE???!? Why wouldn't they tell us that when we walked into the place, IDK. We ended up cutting our cake in the hotel lobby (the ghetto!). The manager was walking around in shades like Bad Bunny and basically told us "sorry not sorry." They took so long with our orders we probably could have all walked out with out paying for drinks. Needless to say, the aesthetics of the restaurant were great but they need to hire professional servers/managers. For a $200 brunch, I will not go there again...

I made reservations for this space 3 weeks in advance for my Daughters Master's Graduation Brunch. Upon our arrival on time they stated they had a busy morning and the table was not ready. We were in a party of 15. They tried to sit us outside is what is known as they "waiting area". After confirming that we had indoor seating reservations, they split our party up into 1 large tables and 2 small tables that did not have enough seating between the 3 tables. We then opted to wait for the large table that would accommodate all of us in one table. We waited over an over for the space because the manager did not want to ask their employee to relocate to another area because she was using the space for her Graduation party. Mind you, they were finished eating and drinking when we arrived at noon. After waiting an hour and 15 mins they finally asked their staff member to move their party outside so that we could be seated in the area we reserved for. When the food finally came out the paninis were burnt, they forgot some items that had been ordered. Then when my partner went to bite into his salad, there was a long piece of hair in the salad. As a result of all of these mishaps they did discount our meal but their customer service was less than to be desired and their staff did not practice standards food safety and cleaniness for an establishment. Example, a plantain landed on the waiter's arm as he was sitting the plate down to the table in front of one of our guest and he actually tossed it onto her plate and said, "you'll be okay"! Then when we requested more salsa, they brought the salsa out in the same container that was dirty when they took it back. It was a very unpleasant experience and they definitely need training in food safety and more importantly...
