I just visited Johnny C’s yesterday with my parents for the first time. My parents has been there prior I believe 3 times and had been raving about the food. The place is extremely clean and has a calming ambiance. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by a smiling face (I think it was the owner’s son). Our waitress approached us within seconds of being sat with menus and took our drink order. My parents and I shared everything we ordered, which was an appetizer (homemade mozzarella sticks), a lasagna and a Brooklyn pizza pie. The mozzarella sticks were to die for! Very fresh and seasoned nicely. The lasagna reminded me of grandma used to make it and the Brooklyn pie was unlike any pizza I’d ever had before! The crust was seasoned perfectly and had the right amount of crisp to it. I am returning there this week with my uncle for dinner THATS how amazing this food was! If you’re looking for authentic tasting Italian food - THIS is your place! The owner himself stopped at our table and sat and told us the story of how the place came to be. This had to be one of the best most personable owners of a restaurant we had ever met. They have many plans for all different types of food and catering and I truly believe that even within less than a year’s time of being open, that this place will sore in greatness before the end of...
Read moreRarely give low reviews.. but this one gets points taken away for the sandwich. I know I know, its an Italian place, however I am first and foremost an sandwich kinda guy, and if you are gonna have a 'special' named Italian Style cold cut sub on your menu, I am gonna try it (that or a chicken parm is the second thing to try at a pizza joint, i mean its like getting the General Tsao and Orange chicken..) This sandy was just sad. Store bought thick bread, pre-packaged Sysco meat combination (even Subway changed their meats) which is not all that bad if you actually like Panera, but this was $13 and i didnt even get a pickle..
now EVERYTHING else was PHENOMINAL. Pizza was as it was advertised as being a NY style. And true NY style. Thin yet sturdy crispy crust that could be folded, enough cheese-to-sauce ratio to where it was gooey, but not sliding off. Real piece of art.
Service was perfect, friendly and fast. I feel bad only giving it 4 stars here, I really do, but I cant lie folks.
Leave the sandy, take the...
Read moreTrust me, their Web site pizza pic’s are very deceiving. Ordered the Bronx and was anticipating the best but what we got was a Soggy crust, with way too much sauce (although tasty, I’ll give them that),and very few and sparse toppings.Actually I opted to have xtra cheese instead of the meatballs but honestly, I really couldn’t make out what toppings were what on it. Not sure where the ham, sausage, & pepperoni were or which one was what, And even though I said no meatballs, it looked like there were meatballs but then again, like I said,, I couldn’t tell what toppings were what, and $23 was waay to much for that hot mess. Honestly, frozen pizza would have been a Better choice. If you must eat pizza in this area, stick to Marco’s or even Domino’s or Pizza Hut where you would actually get PIZZA that has lots of ingredients, NON soggy crust, and value for your money. But of course, this is my opinion, & obviously everyone has different tastebuds and actually may enjoy...
