Last week I went to KMC for the 1st time ever. I was visiting Tampa with my nephew, staying in Midtown at the hotel; I have a friend that also lives there. I ordered my food & paid without incident, after I quickly adjusted my order. The owner then asks āDo you live in the complex?ā I answered no, Iām visiting etc (see above). I thought āoh maybe residents get discounts thatās why sheās askingā but she doesnāt say anything or follow up after. Odd, but ok.
The next day is when it gets awful. I place an online order, get a confirmation email, but then within 2 min I get a cancellation email. That was very weird. Iām thinking, maybe theyāre busy? I head in to reorder in person (itās empty clearly not busy). I ask about the cancelled order & the owner confirms SHE cancelled it because she āknowsā I was ordering for someone else. She then tells me that she wonāt serve āmy friendā so she can only make 1 sandwich & 1 drink because āmy friendā wrote a very nasty / negative review. I decided not to purchase & left. This woman made me feel so awkward & uncomfortable by bringing me into something that has absolutely nothing to do with me.
Essentially, the owner cancelled my online order then refused to fulfill my entire order in person because she has a personal vendetta against my friend for writing a negative review. How she connected us is very suspicious - did she follow me after I ordered the day before? How does she know who Iām friends with? How does she know my name to cancel an ONLINE ORDER? Iāve only been there ONCE before!
Itās disgusting to refuse service to someone who did nothing wrong (me) by association (someone writing a bad review should not warrant a refusal of service). Iām also distraught that she was telling me what I can or canāt order & what I can & canāt do with MY order.
Iāve since spoken to the franchise owner, Roi - he said heād follow up - but no one has. No apologies from either. I definitely will not be a patron of this business. If the owner is upset about bad reviews word of advice - instead of cancelling orders & refusing to serve new customers be mindful of basic / bare minimum customer service, so people donāt have a reason...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a very AWFUL experience at this establishment and I would never go back. I have passed by kale me crazy a couple of times but never had the time to stop in until this last Thursday. I went in and was greeted by an employee when I asked for suggestions two she offered two of the most popular. I asked for alternative options due to a nut and banana allergy. She made a recommendation and substituted the almond milk for coconut milk due to the nut allergy. I tried the smoothie and I didn't enjoy it. I tried to stomach it but was unable to. I went back inside to inform the employee that I didn't enjoy it and she seemed annoyed and asked what was wrong with it. I mentioned to her that I wasn't sure but something just tasted off and it wasn't very good and asked if I could have something else. She looked at me and said hold on, and walked into the back. Another woman emerged out and her disposition was very annoyed and said "what's the issue". I explained to her the same thing I had explained to the other employee and she said "well I can't give you a refund". I let her know I didn't ask for a refund, I would just like to have something that I enjoyed. She just sighed really hard and said "well you'll have to give me a few minutes". I asked if she needed a few minutes due to being busy and she said no because I need to contact the owner. I said I'm sorry I don't understand , you need to contact the owner in order for me to get a different drink? She said yes that's what I'm saying. I said I don't understand what is your normal protocol when a customer gets something that they don't like? And she said I don't know because that's never happened before. I said okay and just grabbed the smoothie and walked out. I have never felt so disrespected And disregarded as a customer before especially when I was being extremely kind and just wanted something I would enjoy especially after paying $14 for a smoothie. I wouldn't recommend under any circumstances.
I didn't order a "make your own" smoothie I got the powerhouse smoothie per her recommendation. The only thing she changed was the almond milk and changed to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreToday I had a very unfortunate experience with the Owner of Kale Me Crazy not while I was eating there but while I was enjoying icecream next door at Ben and Jerry's (which was excellent)!! A couple casually walking by also with ice cream cones .... sat down at an empty KMC patio and then they were told to leave because it was not Ben and Jerry's patio. The couple politely moved. I get it. It's your business ... but it was the way the owner shewed the couple away that really caught my attention. I asked, are you the owner? Because she was sitting at a table while a child with her ate fast food. I thought that to be very hypocritical of the owner and I didn't hesitate to tell her. I also said as a customer view point it seemed unwelcoming and a bit petty. The stores are so close together she could at least put a sign up! After I gave her an earful of my opinion she told me that l should pay for her patio washing because it was often used for icecream. I suggested she pay her own bill and try to communicate better with people and the other business around her. She continued to bicker as my kiddo and I finished up our treats. She was very unprofessional. I have eaten there before I will not ever again! I'm so disappointed this happened. Maby she was having a bad! I understand it's her right as a business owner but YIKES! Also.... The place was empty except for the table that was being used for fast food from the owner. So, if the owner is worried about appearance she should rethink what was on the table outside then maby seats wouldn't be open to other...
