If you’re looking for the perfect coffee experience in South Tampa, Sophia’s Coffee Shop is the hidden gem you need to visit. Nestled in the heart of South Tampa, this cozy café offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. I recently stopped by and was blown away by the quality of their handcrafted cappuccinos. The espresso was rich and flavorful, perfectly balanced with silky, expertly frothed milk. You can truly taste the barista’s skill and passion in every sip!
What really caught my eye was their incredible selection of homemade pastries and cookies. The pastry case was filled with beautifully crafted treats, from flaky, buttery croissants to perfectly baked cookies that looked almost too good to eat. Every item looked fresh, delicious, and made with the highest attention to detail. It’s clear that Sophia’s Coffee takes pride not only in their coffee but also in their baked goods.

Read morePlease take my review with a grain of salt since everyone has their own needs/wants/opinions. I was looking for a cozy coffee shop to make my own. You know, a place where you're a regular, they know your face, you feel at home there? Sadly, this wasn't it. It was very...what's the word? Plain? Trying hard to be minimalist but had no personality to it. No where to hang with a book or with friends, just a grab and go place. Ok, so switch gears to that kind of order. I ordered an iced mocha with flavoring syrup. The mocha is one of the most expensive drinks on the menu, not sure why. Then add another dollar for none dairy milk (I'm lactose intolerant), and more for the syrup. It ended up being close to $10 after a tip. There was ice to the top of the cup so not much actual liquid went in. The chocolate was none existent and I couldn't identify any flavoring. The person I was with ordered around the same thing and said they couldn't taste anything either. We won't be returning. $10 is an insane amount for a mocha that tastes like milky coffee. Maybe you'll have...
Read moreReally odd experience. We live near USF and ended up down SOG for family photos at Ballast Point Park. This was also the day the syrup-laden Dutch Bros. opened, but we wanted to support local instead so we went to Sophia. My iced chai was a cup packed with ice, with oat milk poured over it, with 2 pumps of "Chai Syrup" (not even concentrate or powder) that wasn't mixed into the milk...pretty gross and definitely a rip-off. 10 ounces of lightly flavored oat milk do not justify a $7-8 price.
My husband got a hot Americano that had grinds in it and was very watered down (too much water...like maybe there was 1 shot instead of 2?).
No friendliness to the service, no greeting, no smile. This combined with the sad beverages mean I cannot recommend this spot. Very odd because the reviews were good! Interior was...
