This is a full service restaurant that offers various seafood boils and some fried seafood dishes. The flavors in the seafood boils were very delicious, but be cautioned that there's a lot of messy work involved in eating these dishes. Thankfully, the restaurant offers free bibs, gloves, and hand wipes. I don't much care for working for my food, so I got the fried shrimp basket. The shrimp were fried to a nice crispiness and had a decent flavor, but the breading had a strange smell to it that was a bit off putting. This did not affect the flavor however. The prices were decent for what you get, but there is something they charge for that I've never have been charged for at other restaurants, and that's extra condiments. My shrimp basket came with 8 large shrimp, but I received one of those small plastic condiment cups that was only filled halfway with cocktail sauce. Once that was used up, I ate the rest of my shrimp plain as I didn't agree with having to pay for another little cup of cocktail sauce, especially since the one offered for free was half empty. A bit of a shady practice imho. The service was excellent! We couldn't have asked for a better server. She took the time to explain everything and was very attentive in keeping drinks filled. The interior design was whimsical with lots of large plastic fish hanging from the ceiling and old license plates on the walls. The music however, was so very loud. It was so loud that it made it almost impossible to have a conversation amongst the table. Overall, this was a decent experience, with decent food, at decent prices (except for the condiment charges) but with top notch service. Basically an average experience that wasn't very overwhelming or...
Read moreThe restaurant is located in an unassuming strip plaza. Upon walking in, I wasn't sure if I needed to wait to be seated or find a place on my own. The cashier was busy with a to go order but there were two other employees at the front, behind the counter. I finally asked, after standing there, in limbo, for no longer than 2 minutes, if I should find my own seat. I would have felt a little better and less patient had someone greeted me and let me know they would be seating me shortly. Upon being seated, we were greeted by Irish! Thank you Irish for giving a complete run down of the menu and getting our drinks started. Soon after, the waitress came over to take my order. I ordered the king crab legs and a fried combo basket. I absolutely loved the king crab legs in butter and garlic sauce!! I was not given any utensils to take on those meaty crab legs. It was explained to me that they don't bring out utensils unless requested. The reasoning for this is because they've experienced a rash of utensils being stolen. On the other side on scale, I was totally disappointed by the combo basket! It included one crab cake, 4 pieces of shrimp, 5 or 6 pieces of scallops and a few ounces of fried clams. This combo cost $20…! You are better off grabbing the king crab for $40. IMHO, they could have at least included french fries with the basket, at that price. There is also a full liquor bar in the back, I did not have a...
Read moreThe food came out cold and was incredibly salty and dripping in oil. We even asked for light salt in anticipation of this and it was still way too salty. We also ordered shrimp with the head on and we got headless shrimp. Part of the order had seasoning and another part didn't. It makes me wonder if they gave us part of a cancelled order. We were also charged for the more expensive shrimp despite ordering the cheaper version. The mixed drink tasted like it had barely any alcohol in it and was mainly juice. Service was slow but the place was packed so that is acceptable. The waitress was very nice and seemed to care about our order. The male server was the opposite and didn't seem to care about us at all. He threw the food onto the table and walked away without saying a word. Now for the things they can't control but are worth mentioning. A few doors down is a small tent of homeless that are fairly aggressive. I would suggest parking close to the restaurant and in the light. The restaurant is also what I would consider a "pot head" spot. The entire place wreaked of weed and it seems like half the people that walked in were totally stoned. While this isn't a problem if you don't mind the smell of weed it can be off-putting to many. We had to get our food to go before we finished eating because the weed smell was so strong and disgusting. In the end it was not worth the...
