Tampa China Buffet — Restaurant in Tampa

My family decided to try the lunch buffet after an appointment nearby. I assumed at 1:00 the food would be fresh and hot after the lunch rush. However, that was not the case. The building itself is nice--fountain with koi fish, nice and bright, large buffet area with several sections. Although a tad pricey at $16.95, I was looking forward to some good Chinese. On the plus side, the Pepsi was good, cold, and bubbly. Also, the egg drop soup was fine and warm. That is the end of the good part. Everything else I tried, and the rest of my family, was room temperature to cold, and these were hot bar items. Most items were stocked, but seemed to have been there for hours already. Also, I am not sure what the red/orange sauce they used on several items is, but I did not care for it's sweetness. This was especially on chicken and broccoli and chicken on a stick. The lo mein style noodles were cold and totally bland. There seemed a good selection of sushi, though no sashimi as pictured; however, nothing was named and several were very spicy unwanted surprises. There was no one to ask what things were. There were several salad options. I was afraid to try most of them as the temps were not cool. Again, several choices for desserts, but they were petrified. Ice cream cups seemed defrosted and refrozen a few times. I will definitely not be returning. Hopefully there are other safe and edible Chinese options...

If any of you remember the old China buffet and how sticky the floors were and how disgusting the bathroom was and how marginal the food was.

You can forget those memories because this place is brand new it's so beautiful on the inside that it's actually wonderful to sit in and enjoy an unlimited amount of food coming from the buffet everything from sushi to shellfish to complete American standards and delicious Chinese specialties are available. If you're really hungry you can eat so much food that you'll be rolling out of the place instead of walking everything is delicious there are even a select amount of vegetarian specialties to keep everyone satisfied. Even the ice cream which can be hit or miss in a buffet atmosphere is perfectly presented in little tubs vanilla chocolate and strawberry so you don't have to worry about dipping an ice cream scoop into water that may have been sitting for a long time.

The staff is fantastic and friendly The place is exceptionally clean, many of the workers are Hispanic but don't let that fool you their expert at making sushi and all of the other specialties that come out of the kitchen at this location. This is a dining experience not to be missed and it's very very inexpensive compared to what you're getting. So whether you're coming for lunch or dinner don't miss the China buffet located on...

"I don't recommend this restaurant! Despite the food being good and varied, the service is terrible! The waitress who attended to us was in a hurry for us to leave, even though it was still 1:30 hours before the restaurant closed. She started cleaning the tables around us and even asked my husband if he was done with his meal, about 20 minutes after we arrived, and when she heard that we were still eating, she mocked us by saying that we "ate a lot". When we arrived, I noticed that there were no knives on the table and asked her if she could bring us two knives. In a rude manner, she pointed to the other side of the counter and told me to go get them myself.

Anyway, at the end of our dinner, I chose to pay her a 15% tip since it's expected behavior in restaurants. She took my card to the cashier and returned with my payment receipt, saying that the tip would be charged automatically later. To my surprise, later on, they charged me 32% more on my card! I couldn't get in touch with the restaurant about the issue, so I made a complaint directly to my credit card company, which resolved the problem. In other words, I don't recommend it due to the poor service and lack of honesty from this employee. From what I've seen in other reviews, it's been common for them to charge extra fees unfairly!...
