Fortune Star Oriental Bakery — Restaurant in Temple Terrace

I usually love this place. Great buns, great selection, good prices. However, this morning I was highly disappointed. I drove almost 25 miles to pick up buns as a treat for visiting family. I arrived just after they opened at 9:00, but there were no buns in the display case. I was told that the shop wasn't really open yet. When I pointed out that their posted hours were 9:00am - 7:00pm, and that I just walked through their open door, I was again told that that they weren't open. When I asked when they would be ready to serve their buns, I was told 10:30. Way too long for me to wait. These folks have been at this location for many years. You would think that they would have figured out by now when they actually were open and ready to serve food to the public. Either be ready at 9:00, or change your hours of operation to reflect your actual ready time. It's...

This place is THE BEST ASIAN BAKERY IN TAMPA! I love coming here and get their baked pork buns, dried pork bun roll, coconut custard bun, and crepe cake! I never go anywhere else but here! This bakery has open for so long and they have the best ingredients! My sister and I order birthday cakes here all the time! They have Durian/Matcha crepe cake or their fruit cake is delicious! Their price is super reasonable! If you have never try their crepe cake, you have too! One piece isn’t enough, you have to buy 2! A piece is around $5.00 so if you have a lot of people, I recommend getting an entire cake for around $50.00! I RECOMMEND...

We’re so glad we found this place. Another Oriental bakery to go around Tampa. We love their mango and matcha cheese cake but they also have different kinds of buns. We ordered my daughter’s birthday cake here for the first time. We were impressed with the how they made the customized cake we ordered. They were able to put the color and rare design my daughter wanted. The cake was light, fluffy and fresh. The icing and frosting are not too sweet. It was delicious.
