Other than the fish tanks, from start to finish, the time there was terrible. The staff was rude and the food was disgusting. We were all excited to go there, but now, we will not be returning and I will never recommend anyone to go there. When we first arrived, it was about 15 minutes from our reservation time. We were told to wait by the bar, and when the time came around, I went and asked if our table was ready. It wasnât and I was very rudely told that. We waited longer, and about 30 minutes after our reservation time, I went back up and once again, rudely informed that our table wasnât ready, the customers were paying and once they were gone, we would be called (text). More time went by, nothing. My Aunt eventually went up there, and miraculously, I received a text well after our time. Once at the table, only half of our guests were offered a refreshment. The other half only received water. When the bread was brought out, the plates were practically thrown in front of us. When our food arrived, there was no flavor for all the entreeâs. It was so loud we could barely hear our own conversations and we were rushed throughout our entire dinner. Probably because it took them so long to seat us, the restaurant was about to close. All I wanted was a nice dinner for my motherâs birthday, and I definitely didnât get that. I even reached out to the restaurant afterwards and explained what happened, but I shouldnât have ever expected them to get back to me based on how we were treated. Maybe others have had good experiences, but we definitely didnât. We will not be returning. I donât normally leave reviews, good or bad, but this needed...
Read moreWhat an INCREDIBLE experience!! Our server, Alberto, was an absolute rockstar!! Our flight had been delayed 3 times and now we found ourselves looking for dinner rather late with most of the places at the airport closed already. Thankfully we had 30 minutes or so before Rumfish closed and we found a table and sat down. We were quickly greeted by our server, Alberto. He gave us menus and took our drink orders. We quickly chose our food from the menu, both my wife and I having items that just sounded good to us. When Alberto took our order, I remember how impressive it was to me that he didn't have to write any of it down. And when the food came out, it was PERFECT and DELICIOUS!! I had the Blackened Grouper Sandwich and Gina had a burger on a GF bun. Both were outstanding! After sharing with Alberto how appreciative we were for his excellent service and for the incredibly delicious food, even though they were getting ready to close shortly after we, there last customers, finished, I was still so amazed that such a delicious meal could be had at an airport restaurant in the last hour of their day. Thankfully before we left to head to our gate we had the chance to also speak with the manager, Jo'el. Talking with Jo'el, I could see how, from his demeanor and interacting with us, his staff (Alberto) also has a superior customer-service minded attitude about their work. It is truly a breath of fresh air to have such a great all-around experience from any type of business these days. Thank you Alberto, Jo'el and Rumfish Grill at Tampa...
