Waffle House — Restaurant in Tampa

Quite possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had at a place to eat much less a Waffle House. The staff specifically Javae was exceptionally rude. She legit made me cry from how rude she was the whole time. I went there when they were absolutely slammed and I knew it was going to be a while wait. I stayed polite and patient while I wait for my Texas melt and drink. I only went up to the window to see what was going on after seeing people that got the after me with more complex orders get their food and leave before me. Another thing that was worrying me the fact that I have diabetes and without eating for a long period of time I shake and feel sick to my stomach. This did happen and I was not having a good time. I can excuse the long wait because that’s unavoidable but the employee Javae was exceptionally rude. Before there was any issues with me she gave another persons order to a different person and then when the person was told that she said you can either leave or wait for the crowd to die down before they remake it. How is that on the customer?! Then I finally went up and asked about my food when other people were. She said with a attitude that the orders are coming out in order that they were coming in and I said that I was only asking because multiple that order after me got their food and left. She said do you want to talk to cooks?! This is all while im still talking to her politely and with respect. I step back getting more shaky and upset about the whole situation. After maybe another 10 mins she calls my name and I grab my food and say thank you. She said you’re gonna have to give me a minute for the drink. No problem I’ll wait. She then spent the next 10 mins getting other orders together and she went and made at least 5 drinks none of which were mine. She came to the window gave some food to some people and she looked at me wide eyed and says what do you want? I ask for my drink please and she groaned and said what ever. At this point I broke and I just burst into tears because I couldn’t deal with how rude she was the whole time. She made the drink and then handed it to a coworker because she didn’t want to deal with me ig?!?! The coworker came and ask did someone order a chocolate milk and I accepted it in tears. I will never return to this place if only to talk to the manager about how horribly everything was run. When I finally went to the back of the parking lot to eat my food my fried egg was instead scrambled and the eggs were slightly green. I had to eat it because I was about to vomit from how sick I was from not eating. The whole time this was happening there was a security guard Austin who was fantastic and help manage the situation. We are in Tampa for a week on vacation and have bever been here before. This morning we called and ordered a takeout of 2 All-Star specials this morning. This is their most popular meal. We figured nothing could go wrong. Haha.

This was the soggiest breakfast I have had in a long time. The eggs were runny with a puddle of egg whites floating in the middle. The toast was thrown on top of the eggs so that one of the eggs yolks was now broken and already spilled. I love having the yolk in tact to spread over my hashbrowns but instead it soaked thru 2 pieces of toast! Grrr. Hashbrowns were undercooked and soggy as if removed from the freezer and then quick cooked and thrown in the container with the other items thrown on top of them. First of all, I was asleep on the depth of flavor of the darkest roast of coffee. A friend of mine who used to work at wafflehouse recommended this blend and although I was hesitant, I was pleasantly surprised. This roast was as good as any French press, Starbucks, dunkin, Sumatra brand I had tasted thus far. Try it black before you decide to add a bit of chocolate milk to your drink. The hashbrowns were made to perfection as always. Lastly, the staff and customer service was outstanding. Loretta is an absolute gem of a human being with a beautiful soul. She was very thoughtful and genuine when she spoke to us at our table. We felt like we were greeted by family instead of simply being at a restaurant. I would return here repeatedly simply to see her and have another cup of this dark roast coffee. 5/5...
