Ben N' Yan's — Restaurant in Tamuning Municipality

The food was prepared good, but the service was junk. I went to this restaurant 5/28/2021 around 8pm wearing a T-Shirt shorts and slippers. No one was at the door and all the wait staff dressed in their light blue Polo shirts was working hard to make their tips. I'm not sure if my appearance seemed not to be their standards, but I assure you looks can be very deceiving. I was in the mood to give a good tip, but with no greeting or assistance why the hell should I bother. I've been to local establishments and even establishments franchises from the US mainland and was greeted and asked if I may need assistance. Your establishment is not even a 5 Star restaurant and your wait staff doesn't even know how to host your establishment. Because you serve Filipino foods and most local Filipino or Islanders go their to experience Philippine foods shouldn't be the basis for not maintaining good customer service with adequate assistance. Your establishment is not the only place that serves Filipino Food and yes I am aware they are other restaurants that do. But kudos to your wait staff that clearly paints a picture of what to expect when customers come to your establishment. For the lady that asked me for my name and my order thank you, for the lady that was too focused on writing down phone orders , look up and forward and acknowledge your customers a simple gesture will be enough to show that you saw me. I understand that you're busy, my first time to visit your establishment and my impression isn't a good one. Now that I am aware to just walk in without being checked or temperature read , and no mask scares me if your restaurant is safe from...

I would give a negative star rating if I could. Awful awful staff. My partner and I decided to dine at Ben and Yans for a late lunch. I wasn't too hungry since I ate with friends earlier but I was craving isaw and BBQ. I ordered three sticks, while my partner ordered a sizzling plate with rice. However, throughout our meal, we noticed the staff (3 ladies and a guy) staring and laughing at us, which made us uncomfortable. They were thinking my partner doesnt feed me enough or what. The staring was obvious I almost thought they were watching TV behind me, but there was none. When I finished my last BBQ stick, our server was staring at me with the biggest smile on her face. She seemed to single me out, asking only if I wanted more food, ignoring my partner, as if she wanted to laugh! This behavior continued when we received the bill, with the server's smirk making us so uncomfortable and feeling very disrespected. When my partner paid, he asked them if something was funny, and only then they stopped with their behavior. I wanted to order halo halo, another reason why we chose to go to Ben n Yans, but the staff's behavior was disgusting we need to leave.

We won't be returning to this restaurant. We just wanted to eat and enjoy our time together, not be judged by the amount of food we order and the money we spend. I hope your staff can fix their behavior. I heard similar stories of staff being disrespectful so this is not the first time. Having the staff laugh and stare at us while we eat, with no shame, was the worst dining...

Despite the pandemic and the restrictions that were put forth by the restaurants, this was my first experience at Ben & Yan's, and I was very happy with both service and food...the hosts and hostesses were alright, and were very observant with ensuring that anyone that has entered were in compliant with the restrictions.

Food arrived at a reasonable time...we didn't wait long to receive our order..I would say 10 minutes tops to receive all our orders at the same time...food was fresh and just off the oven...all of our food was delicious, especially the beef sinagang...perfect food for the rainy weather today.

If I had just one problem though, I would say the ventilation may need to be cleaned thoroughly...I found myself smelling like what I just ate when I got in my car.

But my overall experience here was awesome...I would definitely be coming back for more authentic Filipino food.
