When I first discovered Habibi it was when they were a catering service and you had to preorder. Loved that! However I’ve noticed since they opened up their own location it’s NOT the same taste, it’s not really authentic to what I grew up around and from what I have had from the Beginning.
My lunch service wasn’t that great as it took 23 min for the waitstaff to come up and take our drink orders. It was just my husband and I in the restaurant, and the waitstaff was walking to and from one side of the restaurant not even acknowledging. I was ready to place my order at 1:10, (10 min after we got there) We placed our order and waited. I ordered an areyes that did not come out like the menu stated. I could be wrong but last time I checked flatbread was totally different bread than a tortilla.. and what I got was legit a quesadilla with no spices on the inside and just some garnish of parsley. I didn’t want to add any meat because I LOVE how the spices compliment the cheese and the fresh herbs of parsley and I had a huge dinner event later I just wanted something light and small. Well to what came out was just cheese and tortilla. I told my husband I think that’s yours because it doesn’t look right to me… It was back and forth with the staff and the kitchen and they ended up remaking it and it DID taste better and not “just cheese” however it still was not correct and they tried there best and I was ‘fine’ with whatever it was at that point only cause of the taste. Presentation still overall sucked. -no flatbread -no spices except on ONE portion of the quesadilla piece and that was the ONLY bite that tasted amazing and authentic.
Now this place makes and sells the Dubai chocolate bars. We have ALLLLL seen the videos on how it was supposed to be “made” and come out. This place wasn’t even close. And to top it off you couldn’t take this ‘chocolate to go’ before 10/17. And it had to be a dine in service only. I unfortunately was the group that was forced to do dine in service to ‘try’ this bar and pre order. (Which is fine) but you can not go and tell customers that they can’t take chocolate out due to it not having any preservatives and then go and change the story the same day I show up and make the reservation and then TELL me that to go is an option.
The chocolate bar was served to me cold. Presentation was beautiful and stunning. I wanted to do the cracking videos I seen everyone do and when I picked it up my fingers were already sinking into the chocolate. I’m like, ok. I can’t break it, lemme bite into it. Soft texture of chocolate which resembles fudge and the middle part I have NO idea what that was. It was a thick dark green consistency and wasn’t creamy… It was still overall good I just wouldn’t call it the Dubai chocolate bar.
I personally grew up around middle eastern food, and was just highly dissatisfied in...
Read moreIf you like lamb, you will love this place! They have lots of lamb dishes.
It was the first time I’ve ever tried Turkish coffee and tea. They were delicious!
I believe they have an ala carte menu. I went on Saturday night, and they had a buffet. I wish they had spicy dishes. Maybe I was expecting something similar to Indian food where there are lots of spices so I kind of let myself down with that expectation. I just felt the food was too bland for me. I like the hummus for sure. The nan bread is basically a pita bread. If you’re local, bring your own finadene and boonie peppers. 🌶️ 😉
But if that’s what Mediterranean food tastes like then maybe I don’t really like Mediterranean food. 😬
All five of my friends agreed that their food was not something we’d go back to get.
I would suggest that they make a signature dish that is so delicious that it would give me a reason to go back. If not, I’d rather just go to Dr. Kebab because at least they have their spicy sauce to stir your taste buds as well as their cilantro 🌿 Their lamb shawarma is delicious too!
Sorry. Back to Habibi. The name means “My love.”
I loved their service! The staff are very friendly and quick to deliver your orders. They have good team work!
The dining area is a bit too crowded because we were sitting near the buffet area where people had to squeeze by us to get their food.
They have tight parking space at the front, but they have a garage where you can go through the back door to enter the hotel and then the restaurant. The restaurant is nice and clean. It’s small. It probably seats about 50 people. They share restrooms with the hotel lobby and so it’s nice...
Read moreThe takeout experience here leaves MUCH TO BE DESIRED. First off, the menu prices online DO NOT MATCH the actual price they charge you (as of 09SEP24). The lamb Fatayer was 7 dollars more. When mentioned on the phone when I called back because the price seemed extensive (also tried to charge 6 dollars for one extra Tzatziki sauce), there was no compensatory action (I.e. giving us the product for the advertised price). Yes, you saw correctly, they tried to charge 6 DOLLARS for an extra Tzatziki sauce even though I was only asking for a to go cup size…the young lady on the phone must have been very new, because when I brought up all these issues on the phone, she seemed very unable to handle it and had long pauses when verifying prices and such. SO, I had them cancel the extra Tzatziki, but ,when I arrived, I explained that when I asked for extra sauce I just wanted an extra cup size of tzatziki, and she explained they only came in one size (lies, I’ve been there before and they put several in our to go bag lol). Eventually she went into the back to ask if they could do that and came back with hummus……HUMMUS…I just took what I was given and made my way home. After arriving home, I notice the portion size was MUCH SMALLER than the size I’d have received if I’d have gone in and sat down and ate. Smh…BUT, the food is phenomenal. Not even going to lie. I feel like once the new staffing is settled in, the experience...
