Ate here due to our regular restaurant being closed. Was a good atmosphere. I'm giving such a low rating though due to a few things that would deter me from eating there again. 1. My tap water was salty along with my partners lemonade not sure if it's the machine they use needs cleaning or maybe it's the ice. 2. Food was mid and our pasta didn't have much flavor. The nachos were just regular nachos you could get from a bar. 3. And the reason I will not be going back mostly is the prices and the menu was not clear on certain things... we ordered the nachos and pasta with goat cheese. 11$ for nachos no meat at the bottom states chicken/steak 13$ shrimp 14$ and something else. Well I though it would be 13 dollars for the nachos with some chicken. Added on it NOPE.. this place charged 13$ plus the 11$ making it a 25$ plate of nachos.charges 13$ for some steak on nachos!! This wasnt a whole steak on the nachos either it was small cubed pieces equal to 2 scoops of meat and mind you this wasn't a mountain of nachos either it was a small plate I wish I took a picture of it. So does that mean the pasta which was 13$ no meat (which is what we got) would be almost 25-30 dollars if you added chicken or steak?.... not a mountain of pasta either so small I don't think one person would be able to take home leftovers. 45$ plus a tip for a bowl of pasta and small plate of nachos. On top of that the bread we were given was cut thin and we ate in 2 bites we asked for 2 more just to finish the meal and those were also charged an extra dollar for each bread....we ate our nachos with no silverware or napkins I had to ask for them and remind our waiter we didnt have any. Nachos came out 15 minutes before the pasta we had ordered them as meals together not as an appetize but ended up sharing everything cause staff seemed overwhelmed for some reason it wasnt busy at that monent but did pick up a little after we had been there. We didn't notice the price confusion till the end and the guy mentioned he was "having a long day". Overall it was a decent place but the pricing vs portions and the way the menu didn't clarify certain uncharged I would be cautious ordering from here and ask about the pricing...
Read moreI was visiting Taos and decided to stop by this restaurant for dinner. Overall, it was a pretty good experience. We didn’t have a reservation, and even though it was in the evening, we got seated right away, which was nice. I ordered the chicken quesadillas, and they were really tasty. The chicken was juicy, and there was a good amount of it inside the quesadilla, not just a few pieces. It came with rice, guacamole, and sour cream on the side, and all of it went together really well. Everything tasted fresh, and you could tell the ingredients were good quality. The only downside was the portion size. Compared to other Tex-Mex spots I’ve been to, it felt a little small. If I had been super hungry, I probably wouldn’t have been full just from that one dish. Also, they don’t serve free chips, which was kind of a letdown since I’m used to getting chips and salsa at places like this. The restaurant was a bit busy but service was good, it felt a bit long since we get the menu and order the food but we didn’t have to wait long at all for our food. The stuff was friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and has a nice vibe inside. I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the area, especially if you’re craving some tex mex. I’d go back for sure to try more...
Read moreIf you’re craving a hearty meal with the warm feeling of a family kitchen, you won’t be disappointed. Our family(3 adults) ate here on Sunday and had a wonderful meal. We don’t eat out often, as I’m blessed with a spouse who loves to cook. And honestly, over the last few years, the cost of eating out here has made it less appealing. Not the case here! The food tastes like it’s made with care and passed down recipes, all at reasonable prices.
The food was gone before we even thought to take pictures, it was that good. We had the smothered burrito plate with steak - Christmas The chile was rich & bold but balanced, with just the right mix of heat & flavor.
Chile cheese fries with chicken- Christmas, (which could easily pass as a full meal) couldn’t stop eating it even though everyone was stuffed.
And the green chile cheeseburger! It was a full sized, juicy (not greasy) burger with a flavorful and perfectly cooked patty. And the fries… the best! Not the skinny fries where you need four to make one normal one, but real fries. Hot and crispy. Dinner here was such a wonderful treat that we’ll definitely be back more often. La Terraza feels like eating at your neighbor’s home, from the warmth to the generous portions. Thank you for the...
