Don't bother with this place. Go to Michael's Kitchen next door or Orlando's 2 miles up the road for a better dining experience. I don't see how this restaurant ever deserved it's current 4.8 rating as my experience was not good on many different levels. Let's start with the service - we're on the patio at 11AM, there are only 2 other tables with customers, yet we had to wait forever for someone to bring water, to take our order, no one refilled our water nor came out to check on us or bring a bill. It was laughable how inattentive the service was. The food was extremely average - my wife's fajita's looked more like stir fried beef - not much flavor or spice; the veggies were barely cooked. They served boring corn tortillas with the meal. The chips & salsa appetizer was good, but that's the best thing I can say about Sabor Real. I really don't like to give negative reviews, but this place really didn't seem to be putting any effort into delivering a quality experience. You can do better...
Read moreUpdate: We've visited 3 times over the past year, including after their expansion and can confirm Sabor Real is as good as ever. Today my 5-year-old son said, "I would give them a million stars!" Great food, extremely friendly staff, and very kid-friendly. We can highly recommend for any families looking for an excellent local food experience.
Great addition to Taos with delicious, affordable New Mexican food, and with very friendly staff. We had tamales, Chile Rellenos, chopped steak with green chile, Frito Pie, and a cheeseburger - all were fresh, and full of flavor. Nothing was too spicy - for that, try their red and green homemade hot sauces, served on the table with your meal. So good we went home with big takeaway cups of both of them! Looking forward to coming back and trying more things...
Read moreWe had three experiences with Sabor Real on our family’s trip to Taos. I initially grabbed a burrito for lunch while the rest of my family was skiing, and it was well made and tasty but not the type of burrito this Texan is used to (heavy on the meat and beans). We got lunch there the following day, and we (my 16 yo & I) were wowed by the huevos rancheros, vegetarian burrito, housemade chips & guacamole, and horchata agua fresca. Based on our great experience at lunch, the whole family got takeout tonight. We loved the tacos al pastor, barbacoa torta, huevos rancheros (again!), and mango agua fresca. The salsa and guacamole were both so...
