I can see that I'm singing to the choir here. I stopped in yesterday to pick up some lunch mid afternoon and to check the place out.

While I wouldn't exactly describe the store part as authentic NYC-style bodega, they have some personal care items and an interesting supply of ingredients that are probably difficult to get in New Mexico. Moroccan spices, Asian and other international ingredients, etc. Foodies will appreciate this place. I'm going to let the Santa Fe Foodies I know in on it.

Two things you should keep an eye open for: Fridays when we get back into busy season (see number 2). The sandwich board out front announcing that they have their Cuban sandwich.

The menu says that they only have it on Fridays, but they are closed on Friday at this time of the year, so they have them on other days as a special.

I'm not claiming to be an expert on Cuban sandwiches, but the first one I had was in Little Havana in Miami and it set the standard for me. This one is worth the trip.

I added banana peppers to mine, but you can get jalapenos if you prefer.

The soups I brought home look delicious. Can't wait to try them.

Dorothy, the owner, is a delightful person. Say "HI" when you stop by. ...

Going here is like an event because there are so many cool things to see IN the Bodega. We love this place and are always pleased with the food. And the specials! Today I got brisket and grits. It is enough for at least two meals and it was mouth watering. Another noteworthy thing to report is that we just picked up our order, got home and there were no chips. I called to let them know and the owner answered. She could not have been nicer and said she would adjust the bill. I wasn't even expecting that. Just hoping for chips to be included the next time but she took care of it and took them off our bill. Now THAT is great service. ...

Of all of the places I’d expect to find in Taos, this spot is truly a gem. It’s the kind of place worth coming to Taos specifically for, and the kind of place you want to come back to over and over again; which I have. I’ve tried so many of these dishes, and every one of them hits just right! From the brisket, to the soups, to the sandwiches , just wow! The food tastes like pure love and the owners give exactly that in the sweet, down home type-service that they provide. If you’ve never been to the Godega, I suggest you make a special trip, as it’s truly a life-changing experience. And if you go based on this review, tell...

So excited The Godega is open! We had the birria grilled cheese and the Cuban Gooding Jr. Devoured both instantly. Cuban had a really good balance of flavors, pickle was yum. The birria grilled cheese 🔥🔥🔥 so good. Nice selection of swag, really clean and cute store. We will be back for more sandwiches soon! Challenge: Taos riff on classic NYC bacon egg and cheese? Second visit: had the Uptown (birria bahn mi). The spice level was perfect, flavorful, filling, super delicious. I could eat this every week. Partner had the 40/40 and devoured it, said the chicken was moist and delicious. Would order both again. GO! Excellent value for your $.

This is my favorite place to order food in Taos. At most restaurants, I find one plate and order only that. But at Bodega, I try anything on the menu because I know I will love it, no matter what. The house-made gluten-free foccaccia has been my favorite for a long time, and it keeps getting better! I love the guava or passionfruit sodas. The jalapeño cole slaw and the house-made pickles are so good. I recommend the brisket banh mi and the 40/40 club, for starters. There's also soup to go in the fridge and lots of pantry staples. Plus, the consumer experience is unparalleled - always good service and always good tunes.

Found this place by happenstance today and all I can say is that it must have been fate because it was an all around fabulous experience. My mom and I ended up both getting the sweet toast which was, no exaggeration, one of the best things I have ever eaten. We also brought home some of the kimchi which miraculously made it home and was not just eaten in the car with my hands. The food was great, and the vibe was even better. Between the indie artist offerings, the super fun, funky, and fresh pantry items, and the generally welcoming queer vibe, this is a place that makes me wish I lived in Taos to visit more often.
