My wife and some friends made a tradition out of a Christmas Dinner at Hong Kong City. Tonight, we arrived at about 5:45 for some drinks after visiting family and to meet our friends. As soon as I walked in the place looked a bit run down compared to my last visit. Also, there was this terrible smell that my wife described as grease traps being cleaned, (she works in the food industry) so I guess it was a normalish smell and not a common occurrence when visiting. The reason I am actually writing a poor review, and I never do this, is during the first 5 minutes of waiting for our friends and drinking I was struck by something on my left shoulder. Now, with living and working in Taunton I thought maybe someone I knew was playing a joke and tossed something at me to get my attention, this was not the case. I looked to the ground to see what was thrown and something on my shoulder caught my eye. There was a mouse the size of a large avocado with a long tail sitting on my arm. I stood up immediately and shook it off. As I looked up I noticed the ceiling was full of dirt and just falling apart in weird spots. The mouse ran off and I was left with a body sized dust print on my shoulder, tail and all. We immediately informed the hostess stand and their reaction was most startling which was none at all. It seemed as if it was completely something that happens. They informed the manager and we told her we are leaving and asked if we had to pay for the 4 sips of our drinks. She said no you do not after asking if we would like to change tables and we declined.... We left and informed our friends we need a change of venue for our tradition going forward. It sucks but I do not think I can go back. I am not one for making scenes but I wish they had just shut the restaurant down after seeing that. There were a number of people in the restaurant curious as to what was happening, I just needed to get out of there. The place has gone really down hill after it was a pretty cool Chinese food spot in the Taunton area. FYI we went to Fusion which was about a mile down the road and it was amazing! No mice falling...
ย ย ย Read moreFirst time here. I entered the restaurant and was greeted by two young ladies. I asked if they had a bar and they pointed me to where it was. I sat down and waited for the bartender. It was about five minutes before he gave me attention. It was a little busy, so it was understandable. I asked for a menu and he left to go get one. As I was waiting, I was looking around at the restaurant and noticed that there was a Sushi Bar. So, I decided to go and sit there but wanted to tell the bartender. As I tried to get his attention, I noticed that he was having a conversation with someone else at the other end of the bar. No menu in hand. So, I went back to the front and asked the ladies if I could sit in the Sushi Bar instead. They said yes. They also mentioned that someone would be right with me. I went and sat down. I waited for about another five minutes for someone to come assist me. No one came. Maybe three servers walked past me. No greeting, no asking if I've been helped, nothing. Not even a menu was offered to me. The gentleman on the other side of the counter didn't even acknowledge me. I got up and left. I can understand it was a little busy, but I've been in the restaurant industry for long enough to know that all customers should be acknowledged within, the most, two minutes. I waited a total of ten...
ย ย ย Read moreI have been going here for over 10 years and the food quality and taste has been consistent. This is by far the BEST Chinese Food Restaurant in Massachusetts and in my opinion the best i have been to yet. I do travel alot to different states and this is my #1 place. The Food tastes so damn good. Beef Teriyaki. Is so moist and tastes so good, chicken fingers again meat is moist and batter perfectly cooked. Golden and crispy, spare ribs again moist and delicious. Fried rice hands down the best. Everything has its own taste, meaning they must cook it in its own oil. The prices are just a tad bit higher then you would find in your local chinese restaurant but the experience and taste of there food is well worth the few extra bucks. Warning! once you eat here you become spoiled and will never order from another chinese place again. When the time comes that you have no other choice but to buy the food from a different place, expect to take a few bites before you toss it in the trash. Once you eat here its heaven and theres...
