Digino's Pizza Tavares — Restaurant in Tavares

Best calzones and second best pizza in the area. Small and easy to miss, I drove by it without noticing for months when I moved to the area. Got one of their flyers in the mail and tried them, good move. It's at the end of a building shared by a gas station/convenience store on 441 in Tavares, near Hardee's. We've taken out pizza and calzones many times and it's always been good. Their calzones restored my faith in humanity. It had literally been years since I'd had a calzone that good, and that from a now defunct similarly small venue owned by a first generation Sicilian immigrant. I've dined in a couple times and order take out numerous times. Each experience has been pleasant. Sometimes they are a little slow but I've never known a place to be perfect all the time, especially if they are popular. The lunch calzone is a great deal and one of the best I've ever had! Don't go there expecting 'fine dining' or to be 'wined and dined'. They don't pretend to be a fancy restaurant. Save yourself some time and call to order. I placed an online order, called in to get an ETA after an hour and a half and was told they never got it. The girl didn't ask for my address or any info after which makes me think otherwise... Still got charged at time of purchase. Food was delivered about 45 minutes later. Pizza was to die for but Alfredo sucked. 7/10 would order again for pizza only and probably for pickup.

Edit-i see other reviews about long wait times and getting the run around when calling about delivery eta's - definitely a good idea to stick...
