This is a terrific little diner and particularly stands out due to the paltry number of good breakfast choices in town. But that is to take nothing away from this place as it is a bit of a hidden gem, located behind the main downtown commercial area in Tecumseh. I took my wife here for a morning meal on our most recent visit. This was my second time to visit and on both occasions I have been quite pleased.
Parking is never a problem as it is adjacent to the city lot. We went in on a Wednesday mid-morning and they were surprisingly busy for a weekday. We were greeted and seated immediately as we walked through the door. They had a simple but nicely-kept facility that was a bit larger than what it might seem from the outside. Our server attended to us right away and did a great job.
My wife chose the special, which was a great deal for $4. It included eggs, bacon and potatoes along with pancakes. She had enough left over for another meal. I had the spinach and feta omelet which came with either fruit or potatoes. I chose the former and the fruit mix was actually very good (bananas, cantaloupe, pineapples and orange slices). They had a nice array of bread choices and I opted for sourdough toast. It was very satisfying, and well priced at less than $6.50.
With coffee and tea to drink, our total cash outlay with food, tax and tip was about $17. I thought this was quite reasonable and a good value. We will certainly look forward to...
Read moreTheir breakfast items are delicious, but when you order through Doordash and/or pickup, they ALWAYS are missing items from your order. If you pickup, double-check order before walking out the door, and if they deliver, ask for a refund on missing orders.
Edit: 4/2. They are a lot better at remembering to put everything in your order so I updated my rating by 1 star. However, on doordash, they keep changing how the menu is presented therefore, there are A LOT of glitches that make you end up spending more on items than you should. And the menu, the way they have its set up, they have multiple menus so if you want to have a drink with your order, you have to make a completely new order to get drinks which cost you yet another service and delivery fee on top of your food order. Extremely silly. And the other glitches I mentioned, for instance in the Homer 4 which comes with a Nutella and Banana puree sauce automatically with the order, they now have an option for plain, no topping pancakes or to add the extra topping on it, but the extra topping that should automatically come with the order now costs an extra $1.69. So you're paying for the Homer 4 and the extra on top options that should already come with it... and this I'd a...

We tried to call in for an order and at first they were guessing what on the menu contained our allergen. Turns out some of the guesses were wrong. We literally had to ask them to go check for every single item. You shouldn't have to continue to ask someone to go check if they don't know if something contains your allergen. Then instead of going to check to see if we could eat something they said they were "too busy" to check. It was a huge disappointment after an already bad experience. Basically being told that you weren't important enough to eat at their establishment because they are too busy for you.
We called the Clinton Coney and didn't have any issues and our allergens were taken seriously. Don't waste your time with this place until they actually get it together in terms of allergies. You should not ostracize 1/10th of the population because it's too difficult or your "too busy."
The only reason I'm giving two stars and not one is because in the past they didn't have as many difficulties handling our allergen as a takeout order. This should be a lesson to have a allergen menu handy and educate your staff on why allergens are to be...
