I used to frequent this shop quite often. I liked the quiet ambiance and the coffee was okay. Then one day I entered and out of nowhere I was slapped in the face with a 10 foot tall thin blue line flag. There are no American flags or any other flags displayed except for this larger than life flag at the entrance. I know that flags have a purpose, at times they unite, other times they divide and are meant to incite fear. The purpose may change over time, flags that once meant one thing can be taken by others and used for something else. We cannot ignore this fact. With that being said, I just want to warn other ppl of color or otherwise who find this flag divisive and a symbol meant to incite fear amongst us. I know that I prefer my coffee with no politics.
As a veteran I support all military and police. However, this flag has been hijacked and definitely means more than just support for law enforcement in 2022.
Response to Owner: I had no intention of asking you to remove your flag or any reason to believe that you would choose to remove the flag. Choosing to hang the flag despite the present tension surrounding it already made your stance clear. I’m sure the situation was not unknown when you made this decision. To be clear, the CHP has their own flag, the Thin Blue Line is not representation of CHP and is barred from display in any relation to CHP duties. Thankfully, the CHP is not willing to ignore the fact that the meaning of flags...
Read moreAs soon as I moved to Temecula I was in search of a good coffee house to feed my caffeine addiction. This coffeehouse not only serves a great cup of joe, but its atmosphere and staff makes it feel as though it’s an extension of your home. The owner is a remarkable man, who not only is very personable and caring toward his guests, but he proudly displays a “defend the blue” flag, it exemplifies his gratitude of our police force and all they do for us as a community. Alongside that observation, he and his staff treat everyone with the utmost regard. They are very warm and friendly to everyone who walks through the door no matter their skin color. The cherry on top of the cake is how welcoming the vibe is. I mentioned it previous how it feels like your own home, it’s true. I have yet to come across a coffeehouse that equates to Its A Grind. Any reviews that suggest otherwise are guests who woke up on the wrong side of the bed. My review is a true testament of what this place...
Read moreAlmost passed this little shop by, when I decided to stop by. It's got a very "earthy" feel to it and the ambiance is soothing and homie.
Classic 80's music filled the air, as I glanced over the brown tones of the decor surrounding us. The seating was cozy and I especially enjoyed the canvas pictures that were on shelf display; they all contained humorous quotes and phrases of wisdom. I ordered a chai-latte and it was sweet; too sweet for me actually. This is because it contained 'Splenda' and I prefer to only use natural sweeteners (such as 100% pure honey or organic brown sugar).
But here is where the customer service kicks in. The waitress offered to replace my drink, free, with no hassle and I substituted for another caramel latte. Superb!! It's like a smaller sister to the megalith Starbucks and a worthy...
