My account is listed under Joseph Brazfield;
I have a new puppy and brought him in for his initial exam in December 2018. I met with Dr. Lucas and she checked out my puppy and everything was fine. My puppy had just gotten his first round of vaccines from the breeder the day before. Dr. Lucas informed me that because breeders don't typically get legitimate vaccines or store them correctly that I should probably get vaccines from the vet. She then asked me if I saw the breeder give the vaccine to my puppy, to which I answered no. She expressed concern about this. So I reluctantly agreed to let her give him another round of vaccines.
A couple of days later my puppy came down with kennel cough and I brought him into the Vet Clinic. I was seen by a different veterinarian and she declined to give him antibiotics and stated that it would probably go away on its own. It didn't get better, in fact it got worse so two days later when I was up all night hearing him cough I took him into the emergency pet clinic on Jefferson Street where the veterinarian took no time in prescribing him hydrocodone for his cough and doxycycline for his kennel cough. He got better within the week.
Today, I brought my puppy in for his second round of vaccines and they gave me two options: either I could give him half of the vaccines today and come back and give the rest at a later date or I could give them all today stop because he's so small there's a possibility that he could have an adverse reaction. I decided to take the chance and go with the second option. Since that injection other than some pain at the injection site he's had no other symptoms of an adverse reaction, just in a lot of pain.
I can't help but think back to that first exam when doctor Lucas asked me if I watched my dog get his vaccines and then fast forward to today when they took him from me into the back and gave him his vaccines without me present. Kind of hypocritical, don't you think?
If you go to the South Temecula Vet Clinic website and look under dr. Lucas, you will see that she believes in eastern medicine. Meaning, she is likely against giving antibiotics or any other kind of medication if she can avoid doing so. In my case, that led to Great discomfort for my puppy and hours spent at the emergency vet in the middle of the night.
Because Dr Lucas and her colleagues did not treat my puppy for kennel cough and took him in the back to give him injections without me present, as she told me not to do with another person, I am very cautious to return. My puppy is in a tremendous amount of pain, but I will probably take him to a vet that will treat with Western medicine and actually get him better.
Two stars because dr....
   Read moreTook my bird in yesterday to get checked out for a scab on her stomach. I was concerned it was a tumor. She was eating and drinking fine. Walking around. Letting me scratch her head. Healthy poops. I needed to be sure there wasn't anything serious going on. Dr. A came in told me it wasn't a tumor and let me know she was overweight and we should do a diet change. Great, no problem. Then suggested going ahead and sedating her so he could clean the wound and check underneath it. Briefly mentioned death because let's be real anytime anyone or anything goes under anesthesia it's a possibility. I asked the nurse how many times anything bad has happened or they lost a bird and she said never since she's been there. Come to find out she's pretty new and inexperienced and they were apparently training her on my bird. When Bella came out she even told me that while they were "plucking her feathers" to examine her abdomen she thought she went TOO FAR AND WENT INTO HER STOMACH! She said she was bawling until they told her yellow skin was normal. Even at the clinic before we left I said wow she can barely stand on her stick she's tilting and being weird and they said. Ohh she's just sooooo high right now she's fine. Take her home put her cone on. Give her the meds and see you in 2 weeks for stitch removal.!! Great. I asked if there was anything to look out for or any special directions as this is my first time and nothing. Needless to say my bird was never the same again. She died by seizure in my arms at 1120pm. They say it was due to the anesthesia but they never told me how actually serious the procedure was compared to the tiny whole under the scab. Why not just suggest an xray and go from there. Then the Dr was rude on the phone 0 empathy and didnt like my conclusions... There was a very nice lady I spoke too on the phone I didn't get her name but bless her heart. Also bless the tech who thought she went into bellas stomach. They shouldn't have had you doing half the stuff you were yesterday. I paid over $300 for them to let me down and...
   Read morePlease BEWARE animal NEGLECT ...on Sat Dec. 10th I took my dog Inky for vaccines the vet tech decided to remove my dogs saftey leash from her harness she also did NOT follow protocol in using a clinical slip lead for saftey and protection of my dog. Inky ran and escaped the back area where vaccines are given and straight thru an OPEN from door . She ran for over a half mile crossing hwy 79 south where traffic runs at a 55-65mph Inky collapsed. She was recovered in the street in bad shape . She had paw pad burns cuts on her legs , eye and foot swelling with poss. Concussion she is a 12yr. Old dog with degenerative valve disease (bad heart ) we spent 3 days in the vet she was lucky to have survived and nothing short of a miracle. Yes Dr. JENSEN this has FOREVER changed Inkys quality of life she is not on her feet yet. And YOU Dr. JENSEN were suppose to be in charge and I want everyone to know how you called me to inform me that Inky was 50% at fault YES everyone a dog "at fault" impossible your vet tech and your office are 100% at fault shame on you. I believe you must know how responsible you really are considering you told me how the clinic needed to be re-evaluated for saftey issues and that standard protocol was NOT exercised by using a clinical slip lead. In conclusion I hope you have a great time explaining your way of thinking to authorites a reminder to you the oath taken as a vet " I solemly swear to use my scientific knowlege and skills for the benefit of society thru the "PROTECTION" OF ANIMAL HEALTH AND WEFARE THE PREVENTION OF RELIEF OF ANIMAL SUFFERING .......an oath you have obviosly have FORGOTTEN Hopefully it all comes to fruition thru the veterinary board state of California licensing board. Attention everyone please go to another vet this place has no saftey doors and open areas where pets are in danger. Thank you to the citizens who helped search and recover my...
