UPDATE: New Owner responded. This does not explain the other drinks that were made like the Taro. Was made terrible from process standpoint. It was watered down, way too much ice and just sloppy procedure. As for the oatmilk, if that was true. I wouldnt have been able to buy that oatmilk the past month. It is stocked locally as well. ..........
Ok, to the point...Terrible after new owners took over 2 months ago. The way the drinks are made are not the same. They have same ingredients but not the same brand, like the oatmilk for example is not the same. The new owners will claim its the same. You cant tell me that all 100+ tastebuds of my clients are wrong since new owner.
I am from IL and this place was a staple to bring all my family and friends from across the United States to this place. They would go back and brag about this place in the Midwest. I have a huge client list for my business and this was always the first place I brought to.
We developed a great relationship with the previous owner. She was very sweet and transparent with her drinks and ingredients. My friend was sooo obsessed with the strawberry milk that he would call her on video from 2000 miles away and she would tell him everything she would use so he can replicate it.
I am owner of 4 businesses for 20+ years. The way this owner has taken over by switching brands of ingredients and destroying such a wonderful place and recipe is a tragedy. Way to destroy a brand.
I hope the original owners are reading this, I want to propose an acquisition and fund "THE REAL THIRSTEA" to continue this legacy. I am sorry your brand has ended...
Read moreThe customer service from the kids that work here is horrible! It says they close at 8 and there have been 2 instances where that's not really true. The first time the doors were locked at 7:40 p.m. and the second time was today. My daughter and I walked in at 7:45 to get some smoothies that we were craving and as soon as we walked through the door the girl yelled "just to let you know we are completely out of boba and I won't be making any blended drinks!" There was no hello or how are you doing? Just a yell across the room. I proceeded to ask why and she said that she was about to lock the doors before we walked in because she was approved by the manager to do so. Whether or not that's actually true, if your hours show closing at 8 then you should be serving people until 8 p.m. Please update your hours to the actual hours of service! It's not cool for people who walk in thinking that they can still order smoothies until 8 p.m. and then can't. Also, the girl who was working was so rude. First off the warm, friendly, welcoming atmosphere is GONE and aside from decor the lady taking my order was rude, unfriendly, and kept playing with magnets the whole time?!? She had an attitude, and kept rolling her eyes, and overall was very unprofessional. There is no excuse even if she is younger. It’s called training and customer service, and the old workers were young but extremely friendly and welcoming. There was one nice lady who was making the drinks who should have been the cashier because she actually answered the one question I had and was actually welcoming.
And then as far as taste, the boba is no longer is the same. The tea tasted fine but the boba is no longer what it used to be. It was hard, had an odd taste, and just tasted old. The boba itself was so off-putting I didn’t even want to finish my drink…
I used to absolutely love this boba place and it was my favorite, but now it’s definitely gone downhill and I unfortunately will not be returning and no longer...
