Waitress and I won’t say who on a review… she didn’t smile, she didn’t even seem like she cares but every time I eat there it’s like that…. She didn’t check on me she just dropped off the food and left… there was a misunderstanding… it was my fault… and I’m sorry, I would have paid for it…. she was not kind about it and I saw how she reacted on the expo line…. never asked me if I was ok… I’ve eaten here a hand full of times and only one of the servers cared enough to smile:… but did not engage me what so ever… …just tell your staff to smile more… and not only at their little jokes they tell the sushi chefs or each other but with their customers…… it’s sad when the staff laughs and talks to themselves but doesn’t spend that time with their customers….
and I saw the eyes and the looks people were making at the expo line……. I was a waiter for 25 years and I’m a sommelier…. Now I don’t expect every restaurant to care as much as the restaurants that Ive worked in do, but the staff looks miserable unless they are talking to each other….so you have to wonder how the management is treating them….
I only left this review because I texted my friends who are still servers and restaurant managers and they said to tell them….only cause I’ve eaten at your restaurant three times and it was all the same
Lastly, the meat portions are tiny… it’s all rice and crab meat… either more meat and charge more or don’t bother….ill pay it… I can tell the owner cares…
You can tell by the ambiance and the bday song that the owner cares…I understand you’re trying to save money by having small portions…. I know it’s tough…
the bday song isn’t the only time to smile…. take pride in your job folks… make the owner proud…what you do says who you are… who are you?
Now that I’m reading the reviews… wow… saying your going to hire more staff isn’t reassuring… and don’t be afraid to in itecthese people back and make amends for poor service…. It’s...
Read moreI tried to dine here on Saturday night. Key word is tried. I called ahead to get on the list and we were sat right away. The table to our right was already eating and the table to our left was sat a little bit after us. They ordered first because we had questions about how the menu worked, but we ordered about 5 minutes after them.
While we were waiting, a server tried to bring some deep fried oysters to our table. We said they were not ours and the table to our right that was already eating said it was for them. They tried to drop 2 plates of it on their table but the table had only ordered one. The server took the second plate back. This will come back into play later
Our server passed by us and the table to our left multiple times to let us know our food would be around shortly and the kitchen was just backed up. That's fine whatever it was busy.
The table to our left received their food after about half an hour and we thought YAY ours must be following shortly behind as we ordered right after them. NOPE. Our server came by 3 more times to let us know the food would be right out. On the third trip by I asked her if she knew how long because our wait time had already been 50 minutes. She went to get someone else and this person bright out ANOTHER PLATE OF DEEP FRIED OYSTERS. He said the kitchen was busy and it'd just be a little longer. I asked how much longer and he said "the kitchen is very messy. We lost orders. I gave them the order but they've lost it. It'll be out shortly" I asked again how long is shortly because they had been saying that for the last hour and I didn't intend on waiting another hour. He said they wouldn't charge me (duh. I didn't eat anything) and he said "You can stay or you can go it's up to you" So I left. Hungry,...
Read moreEDIT: * I talked this place up with a good friend while I was enjoying it. We BOTH went the following day. I sampled more items, and came away even MORE pleased. For rolled sushi, the Red Dragon is a must-try. The 'grill' meats, beef, pork-chop, and salmon, are all delicous. Even the beef fried-rice was tasty, and that's not something I normally eat/order. Again, service and attention from the two young ladies there was exceptional.
ORIGINAL: You all may recall this as a low-rent, bland Chinese buffet. Halfway centered between Chutney on the west end of the Plaza, and Senor Taco on the east. Well, purge all remaining nasty thoughts of that place.
They dropped serious coin into a beautiful interior remodel. Suffice to say, the decor befits the quality of the food. There's a $20 lunch point, with some limitations on the beautiful color picture menu. I opted for the $30 dinner price, and there are no regrets. That allows you to add sashimi, and several beef and seafood items.
I am a fan of mackerel if it's offered. It usually has a peculiar odor, which many cannot tolerate. Their's did not, which is very very high quality. All of the sashimi was cut thick, rendering an easy two or 3 bites. The rolls were well portioned, in 6 or 8 cuts. They have a tempura scallop app with REAL scallops, no shark chunks. The grilled beef was melt-in-the-mouth tender. Their crab puffs were busting with filling, so much so that I burned my toungue. Topping it all off are three choices of real scoop-dipped ice cream.
They give you a stack of checklists and pencils to keep the goodies coming. Don't miss out on being a pioneering...
