A fantastic breakfast morning experience!

Following a terrible experience at the Morning Squeeze, my friend and I found ourselves in need of a last minute breakfast place. After a short search we decided to try Harlow's Cafe as it was close by, had over 1,600 reviews with a 4.5+ rating. Boy, am I glad we did. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with kindness, smiles, and a cheerful vibe which my friend and I both agreed we felt. It was kinda like a southern homey feel. I instantly was motivated again to eat as these people were very generous and accommodating. Okay, getting back to the review... We brought our service dog, Wrangler, and though the place was packed they allowed us to sit at the only booth that had a reserve sign as our pup was well behaved and we assured them that he'd be more comfortable underneath the table at our feet rather than at a standard 2 person table, which was the only other things available at the time. This place was packed for good reason!

After sitting down a few things happened fairly quickly: They brought our pup some ice cold water in their own container :) How thoughtful right! Kimberly, I think either the manager or a waitress (I'm unsure), explained to us the daily breakfast special and welcomed us to the Harlow's Cafe. She was kind, complimentary, and answered any of the questions we had while maintaining a smile, a polite tone, and a gracious demeanor through and through. Loved it. Alisha, our waitress, was quick to appear after Kimberly was done. She took our drink orders, explained what comes with the meals, checked in on us throughout our dining experience, and accommodated us with brief, but kind and welcome, conversation while making sure our experience was the best it could be. At one point my friend sent back her eggs and new ones arrived in nearly the blink of an eye! Great service! (Nothing was wrong with the eggs, my friend just likes them cooked longer is all.)

Our drinks were never empty, that includes our doggos water, our portions of food were huge and deliciously seasoned, the condiments were abundant, and overall our experience was a fantastic one. This is 100%, without any doubt, a great place to grab a big breakfast for a reasonable price. I personally would recommend the blueberry muffin ;P

When it was time to leave we were approached by Kimberly who offered us kind complimentary for having us and our doggo, who was just so well behaved.

The most notable part of our meal at Harlow's Cafe is this restaurant has the best wait service I have ever experienced! The food was very good, too.

This restaurant is as authentic as it gets; no pretense and no insincere kindness. It's honest to goodness commitment to quality of service. It's pure respect of clientele and efficient business practice. It's a thing of beauty to see a system operating this well.

I reckon there are regulars who eat at Harlow's daily. We had a quick 24hr visit with relatives in Phoenix. My wife found Harlow's menu online which is how we decided to go there.

This restaurant is not a fancy night out kind of place; it's a day in, day out eatery for everyone...and it might be the best working cafe I've ever had the pleasure to enter.

The decor could stand a bit of upgrading, but don't let that stop you from going! The breakfast here reflects true American tradition. The bathroom could have been cleaner, but that is of little concern considering the incredible people providing service here.

If you are a regular or are visiting for the first and possibly only time, the wait service is simply perfect, straightforward and in full respect of a patron's precious time. If you are in the restaurant business, it would be wise to go to Harlow's and take note of the exceptional service practices, because Harlow's has the best table waiting I've seen. They broke the mold and it's worth visiting just to see how to do things right.

Thanks, Harlow's =-) If only I lived closer, I'd...

We were gifted a few free muffins and instructions on which should be refrigerated and which was safe not to be. We engaged in a few minutes of light conversation and swapped thanks and goodbyes. As we paid, I left a very generous tip to our waitress, said our thanks again, and received a welcome back with times of operations and then a final goodbye. Please, if you want to try new places, enjoy large portions, like the southern hospitality vibe, and enjoy good company with good people then check out Harlow's Cafe and share your own experience. These people grabbed my attention and made a continuous customer, as I am able when in town. There is absolutely nothing bad I can think of to say... and I did try to find a con about it all, however there just weren't any and so that deserves 5 stars 🤩 Thank you to the staff of Harlow's Cafe and most notably Kimberly & Alisha (apologies if I misspelled your names). I was back in town, Phoenix, after about 1 year and decided to stop in and see if Harlow's was still as good as my last visit - when I discovered the place. It was a little busier than my last visit - for a Sunday, but the wait wasn't too bad, 10-15 minutes. I recommend parties of 4 or less, and if you have a bigger party, obviously plan accordingly as they can handle you, but without proper planning your wait may be longer. I was not disappointed with the service or the food. I had the chorizo and eggs, with the sides. The chorizo is very lean, and it is mixed with 3 eggs, so come hungry. The side is hash browns, but most people do half refried beans (brown vs. black), and half hash browns. My server was Teslaya, and she suggested the chorizo and eggs dish. I should note that all their food is prepared locally in their own kitchen. The chorizo does have a small hint of spiciness to it, but it isn't hot by my standards. I also was able to test some of their homemade hot sauce. Very flavorful, and mild in spiciness. The owner Kimberly stopped by to see how things were going, and how the food tasted. I cannot say enough about everyone from the person that greets you, and/or takes payment at the end, all the way down to the service staff. They function as one well run team. When the food is ready, it is delivered, and people are always checking on you. High marks here because as lot of restaurants strive for this level of service and never reach it. Looking forward to my next visit.

I found this place awhile back while searching for a new breakfast place to try. The first time I stopped by here it was very busy so I didn't stop in. To clarify, it's a great sign they were slammed but I was starved and had an impatient 8 year old so we went elsewhere and I made a mental note to come solo. I knew I would be up at 6am for a work thing today so I made a point to pack up the laptop and went shortly after opening to avoid the crowd. Anytime I try a new place I get their chicken fried steak with eggs over medium. The chicken fried steak was fantastic. The portion was large and thick and the breading was perfect as was the sausage gravy blanketing this massive fried steak. The eggs were also cooked perfectly. Anyone who routinely orders over medium knows that actually getting an over medium egg is a shot in the dark and we routinely settle for over easy as the over medium egg is ever so elusive to your average line cook. My peach cream muffin that I got in lieu of toast was soft and tasty as well. For the price, the amount of food I got was great and on my best day I couldn't have finished it all. My only qualm was the potatoes could have been crispier, a problem easily solved by me ordering them well done next time. I also appreciated the multitude of hot sauce options available. While most places casually slide you Tabasco and nothing more, it was refreshing to have almost half of dozen choices.
